Hong-Kong Protests

He may have lived in Hong Kong a long time, but he is still a foreigner!

He actually renounced Canadian citizenship and only holds HK passport. That makes him Chinese national by law. He’s also routinely painted by western media as “stooge” of Beijing. That makes him more Chinese in my opinion than most of those “pan-democrats”, even if he is foreign-origin.

The PLA hasn't left its barracks since the whole mess started, and now for the first time they do leave, it's too help clean up while wearing civilian/exercise clothes.

From this, we can see that Beijing is determined to project a benevolent image in HK. There will be no PAP intervention.

I believe HK Garrison standing orders are to never wear military uniform outside of barracks. Yes, it is to keep calm in volatile HK, but it is not related to the current disorder in any way.

The so called college students. Attacking HK people for clearing up the roadblocks.

Funny, just a few days ago, everyone was debating how regular people can go take back the city and finally they feel confident enough to do so. Scary that these rioters still say they are fighting for HK and throw Molotovs at regular people.

It is probably much much worse than what they are willing to say...

Sounds like the ‘Lord of the Flies’. One of the popular rumours going around is that almost everyone volunteered to be on the council, no one volunteered to clean up garbage or bathrooms.

Arrows have been deployed and being used.

For crying out loud, the leading opposition newspaper is complaining how a commander of the PLA garrison in HK can afford Under Armour T-Shirt. So petty and pitiful bunch,

Opposition has also criticized this as “Police act” and violation of the law since it “maintaining public order”. Just nonsense.

I have read some real “jumping through hoops” kind of articles about how this is “Phase 1” of military takeover, or all the cheering people were staged.

Just reminds me of something a colleague of mine told me. A lot of these reports, the ones that contain “man on the street” statements about how they support the protests or hate the central government are curated to by give the impression of massive protest support.

Can anyone imagin what the outcry would be if Islamic preachers arrive in USA or UK and started to preach their version of "love and peace", lol

So Hong Kong is not a "free society" yet these preachers are free enough to enter, all the way from New York and Washington, and have enough freedom to preach their version of "love and peace"!
