well it's amazing the PLAAF has been able to conceal the weapon (or its lack) from you guys for so many years

good for the Chinese military to be able to keep its secrets from OSINT

J-20 and Y-20 will be on display at the Air Force Open House event in Changchun from October 17th till the 21st.



Actually not just on display but performing as well! Two J-20s will perform aerobatic maneuvers on October 17th. A Y-20 will perform on the same day. Unfortunately the displays will be short (five minutes).

Looks like it is the design study for intake design of the 3rd batch of XX15 aircraft engine based on MDB. I am assuming that they are talking about WS-15.

Been posted before. Generated very sparse remarks on this. All it'd mean is that WS-15 isn't ready.

Yes, in point of fact the J-20 was designed from the get go for the larger core of the WS-15, after 001 and 002/004, the intakes were reduced in size to help the AL-31FN's operate more efficiently, this was the first overall redesign when they clipped all the tips and made other minor design changes. So the J-20 has been designed around the WS-15 with its larger diameter engine bays, but the failure of the WS-15 to reach maturity with the J-20 design, forced the design team to reshape and downsize the inlets. The WS-10 may become the new interim engine and it is similar in size to the AL-31FN's.
