It is said to be a Mockery Mock up of a future aircraft from AVIC. But the translation the drive has sounds more like a soup Sandwich. Claiming a “Blended wing body” No. clearly not. Based on the shadow I would guess a ducted fan.
Armed helicopter not sure how.
Normally PLA design is very conservative. This is so Left field I wouldn’t be surprised if someone told me it was a joke or movie prop.

A cutaway schematic of the vehicle that has circulated on the Chinese internet shows two pilots seated in the cockpit mounted in the middle of a giant rotor, encased in the saucer-like body of the helicopter.

What is this? Is this a student project ? Are they trying to go through each and every weird looking Cold-war monstrosities ? This does not look good.
It popped up recently not Cold War unless you can prove it is. Is it? Would love to know.
I pulled the photos off Twitter @Alert 5. If they were altered or translated it was before me. 7F9F88B5-1D7D-43F7-9B59-B3CD8E8E2D6C.jpeg15D322AF-0877-4D1D-AFD6-E6A10449791B.jpeg8067A89D-DBAF-4891-9910-F3A96DAFDD17.jpeg That said you are correct this resembles a number of 1940s 1950s 1960s experimental aircraft from the US/Canadian flying saucers to the French/American coleopter it’s so sci-fi I looks at it and think it should appear in a Avengers movie as a HYDRA gun ship attacking SHEILD Agents.
it also in form resembles the Sikorsky Cypher drone from the late 90s.
Although the description even translated by @localizer still don’t make sense.
This is not a BWB. BWB or Blended wing bodies as known blend the fuselage and wings, flying wing aircraft are a good example as are some stealth drones. But this is strange as the aircraft is in two decidedly different parts the cockpit in the center and ring.
I see it and think it should fly as a coleopter where the shroud would be an annular wing. In which case the thickness or hight of the shroud or outer Donut ring would make sense. It would then be a tail sitter, but with the intakes and exhaust and supposed cockpit that doesn’t seem right.
Clearly one side is meant to be the “front” so we come back to flying saucer. Or flying donut?
