I wasn’t sure what kind of design the Chinese LHD would get but having seen it now from all angles I can say they have a amazing job

Nothing like Mistral gladly

More like the Queen Elizabeth Class plenty of squares and rectangles less curves

That’s a 21st century warship

Btw Hull 2 looks to be complete to 3/4 floor and if it’s 7 floors they are more than 60% done, the well deck is done you can see the hanger deck

I think it’s 1 floor per month so there’s every chance Hull 2 can be launched end 2019 start 2020

It looks like the third ship will be launched one year from now. They can launch one ship every nine months from that same dock if they want.

I’m not an expert on boat design. But from the side by side photos of 075 and 071, it isn’t hard to see the volume of this new ship is almost twice the size of 071. If the tonnage of a ship is closely related to the three dimensional volume rather than the two dimensional length and width, then I would say the full displacement of 075 should be very close to 40k ton if not more.

None of these images are very useful for measurements, but very roughly speaking, I am getting some 8% longer length than 071. Which would then be 227 meters. Keep in mind, due to perspective distorsions, that may very well be 6 or 10 percent. Wasp class is 257 meters long and Mistral class is 200 m long, for reference.
