just curious if they're meant to be like identical, or if there're slight design changes between the two?
The intention is to keep them identical, with improvements applied to one ship being retrofitted to the other in due course. Prince of Wales has benefitted from lessons learned during the build of QE, which lead to the build time being much reduced. They are supposed to alternate in the same role, so they have to maintain identical capabilities, though over time any modifications will leap frog from one to the other.

The different deck colours are identical in both

Are they the heat blast zones for the down wash from the F35B?

I thought the whole deck was heat treated ?

Only sections that are likely to be affected by extreme heat have been treated. The coating itself is VERY expensive and takes an age to apply. Areas that will not be exposed to the extreme heat from F-35B (or indeed V-22 exhausts) are coated in the usual manner.

well Today at 6:47 AM I had in mind minor things like 'this antenna there and not up there'

sometimes it's practically impossible to tell apart even large warships, my favorite example is the R class of battleships (OK I saw in Facebook some guys were able to tell them apart, but I suspected they simply had seen that particular picture before)
