Based on the two photos above, to me the shipyard have no choice but to launch the first hull soon (i.e. Q4 2019 as opposed to H1 2020 that I predicted). There's simply not enough room in dry dock to build the second hull to the flight deck level. And given the construction speed of the second hull, we could start seeing the flight deck by year's end and the island before Spring Festival.

The first 075's launch is expected in less than 48 hours from now.

The 075 looks great........but i'am still amazed at the speed they have built this thing, i mean its an absolutely huge vessel, and it has appeared relatively out of no where to of gotten to this stage. It makes me wonder if the initial images we saw of the build of the 075 were older than when they were released publicly, and that also includes the leaked photo from the factory worker. It probably was built that quickly............but what i want to know is how did they manage to paint the vessel, so quickly?...........they must of had a small army of people working around the clock to of applied the paint, and it would of req'd a few coats as well. For example i believe the American Ford carriers have 5 layers of paint!

LHD is not like warship like DDG

LHD is very easy to build no VLS etc

Turkey completed the TCG Anadolu in 12 months that’s from keel to launch and they have never built a naval vessel of that size

China off course was quicker very quick but LHD construction is about synchronised block laying and welding

And China has that art mastered

I am not surprised I said in march it would be out this year

Are they going to build the CVs very quickly as well? A CV is bigger but also needs synchronised block laying and welding but no VLS.
But VLS and other weapons are made elsewhere in another factory anyway. They just need to install them on the ship.

Exactly...........all the high tech equipment for the electronics and weapons systems would be fitted during the outfitting stage, and even for the Chinese this part of a ships build takes quite some time.
Anyway, my point was really about how quickly they painted the LHD, as they would of had to of done this several times![/QUOTE]

Don’t recall PLAN building another medium/large surface combatant this fast, the 075 emerged from several modules in the shipyard to being launched in weeks. Their first CV took many years.

Not sure if they can now build other warships this fast as well, or is it they are just very good at building LHDs, even this is their first time
