Hong-Kong Protests

He accused me being a 50 cents
Oh, well, then you must have been paid 50 cents by the CCP to post here then! After all, he can't be wrong about China or Chinese people, because he deeply understands them from having visited there before, just as everyone who has visited a foreign country definitely has a profound understanding of it. Therefore, whatever he says on China-related things must be true! That's probably the type of solid logic they used for the calculations to try to land that moon probe LOL

US congressional representatives announced legislation on Tuesday calling for a ban on sales of riot control equipment to Hong Kong law enforcement services, as unrest in the city entered its fourth month.
If passed, the bill would prohibit US companies from exporting so-called non-lethal crowd control items like tear gas, as well as defence articles and services, to Hong Kong, where the local police force is facing growing criticism of its response to protests."

One thing you have to admire about usa is that it takes a stand openly and does not pussyfoot around.
Unlike UK, which will be always devious in its dealings. The British will sit on the fence in public and go with the tide, economic gain being their sole aim.
Bad news for china and its supporters as the USA Congress has got involved. I predict even more sanctions against Chinese , like against Iran.
China will have to obey the American wrt human rights.

Anti-government demonstrators swamped major shopping arcades across Hong Kong on Tuesday night for a series of “singing” protests in their latest efforts against the now-shelved

.
The movement’s newest theme song Glory to Hong Kong echoed through the malls as the protesters sang together while chants of “Reclaim Hong Kong, revolution of our times” and “Stand with Hong Kong” also erupted intermittently.

The new song has spread like wildfire recently, replacing the previously popular Sing Hallelujah to the Lord and Do You Hear the People Sing, a number also commonly heard during the 2014 Occupy protests."

The anti China protests seem to have wide support with all these emotional songs from musicians.

And will the moderators take a look at all the off topic posting and targeting by trolls in the last few pages.?
If mainlanders are uncomfortable with reporting on the hk movement, just close the topic.

China doesn't have tear gas to sell? LOL!!!! The US trying to act like they're doing something. The British banned sales of the surveillance cameras to China. Were those cameras made in China for the British to then ban?
as well as defence articles and services,
It's a start and not only tear gas.
The US getting involved is never good news as they don't go into nuances.
Let's see if China will retaliate. I say no.

This is the definition of pussyfooting. I won't sell you something? Strategic ambiguity on the ROC? Sailing around China's islands in the South China Sea? This is all pussyfooting. Taking a stand requires solid action to stop the other party. But then again, just like how we have vastly different definitions for "understand", we could have different definitions on this as well. After all, since India took a decade to decide NOT to buy 126 Rafales, this, in comparison, looks like action! LOL

Sanction for what? PRC's forces haven't even gotten involved. America can't even get its European allies to enforce Iranian sanctions so who will uphold this sanction? LOL They can go ahead. Gives China perfect excuse to just end this and end Taiwan so it only has to get messy once. Remember, sanctions are against small economies where is is an easy choice for companies to pick the US market over that market. If the US sanctions China, it is sanctioning itself because China is a larger and faster-growing market.
China will have to obey the American wrt human rights.
I don't know what "wrt human rights" are but China's history is made of obeying nothing from America. Unfortunately, India does not have the courage to do the same to even the little UK.
The anti China protests seem to have wide support with all these emotional songs from musicians.
This is the new measure? LOL We got more songs and more musicians in the PRC; don't worry.

A person who resorts to calling someone else a 50 center living in his mother's basement when losing arguments is asking for moderation? LOLOL "Help! Police! They stole my cocaine! They also took the woman I tied up in the basement!" LOLOL
It's a start and not only tear gas.
It's an end. Mattis said that the US cannot offer anything of substance but can do so only spiritually. Did you see that article?
Let's see if China will retaliate. I say no.
I also say no. There is nothing to retaliate from. If the US doesn't want to sell these things, China will provide them. Even if the US wants to sell them, China will still provide them at better prices. They should have never been purchased from the US in the first place. Did they even? Is the current riot gear used by the HK police produced in China or the US?
