Hong-Kong Protests

This clip is a great clip to show the world that not ALL of Hong Kong is in support of the demonstrators as the MSM is trying to tell the world. I've seen plenty of Videos where normal citizens standing up to the mob at grest risk to themselves!

The principle in the clip must be praised for his bravery. I'm sure he will be targeted by the mob!

For those of you who can't understand cantonese. He basically told the students to respect the national anthem, and the flag. And that they must stand up during the national anthem! He also mentioned about respect during the colonial days.

But most importantly, he said if they don't show respect, then they have choosen the WRONG university!

My hat off to you, sir!

It is important to note this clip is from 2017.

It is also important to note that the headmaster told the students that the school had always flown the Chinese flag, it is non-negotiable, this was done even during the colonial era despite colonial oppression taking away school funding and real estate.

Look at the face of the protesting student. After their attempt to gang up and berate the principal, look at the face of the student when the principal gave them a severe reprimand instead and told them to pack their bags if they disrespect the national flag and anthem. Compared to racial profiling and economic deprivation in other countries including the US, Australia, and elsewhere, these privileged kids have been too pampered and have not much to gripe about, yet they are unable to show simple respect. Very sad state of affairs for future of HK.

Rioters attacked police with metal rods, vandalised shops and public property in areas where lived peoples who disagree with them

Note that this, as well as most, SCMP videos are edited to cast the authorities in a bad light, imply inaccurate context and chronology, and portray the rioters to seem as sympathizable as possible. The order of events and the complete sequence of events are not shown in this video, while unrelated events are made to appear related. In the incident highlighted by the video the whole story is that rioters vandalized a private business, a single police van responded to the report of vandalism, more rioters gathered and attacked the police van, preventing it from leaving, attacking, chasing, and surrounding the vastly outnumbered dismounted police until one officer tripped and fell, so another officer drew his revolver and fired a warning shot into the air which caused part of the mob to halt its attacks, multiple officers then drew their revolvers to get through the mob back to their van to leave, a man with an umbrella then rushes towards the police yelling at them not to shoot which at the same time blocks their path, as this man tries to grab the closest officer the officer shoves him off with his foot. The rest of the clip depict scenes not from this specific incident, but also out of context and out of order.

According to my girlfriend, several local gangs can no longer tolerate the riots and have beaten up quite a few rioters who immediately ran away and called the police. The police did not arrive on time and now the rioters are accusing the police of failing to protect them. You can't make this up. I used to believe what Josh Luo said, that they were willing to die for their cause simply because they seemed crazy and brain-washed enough; but now I don't believe it. Not only do they run away when the police defend themselves with guns, they run from gangs with sticks, gangs that they far outnumber. These are the actions of cowards who are only willing to fight when they know the other side is obligated to not harm them. They will not die for their cause; they have shown on every occasion that their self-preservation is very much intact.

I imagine that the people of Hong Kong are getting more and more fed up but I am seeing this change personally as at the start of the conflict, my girlfriend called them protesters, not rioters, for which I corrected her profusely. Midway, she said she wished the PLA would come sort them out and save Hong Kong with non-lethal force, arresting the hidden ring leaders because she says most of the people are just confused and stupid. Now, she's cheering for the gangs. I said, "I would love to see them defeated forcefully but China's enemies would love to see Chinese people kill Chinese people," to which she responded with a reptilian coldness, "Bad people need to die." LOLOL We've essentially reversed roles

Again the important thing is not to be tempted to jump to seemingly easy/simple reactions which are counterproductive as the situation is complex and there are societal shortcomings to be addressed and there is plenty of blame/responsibility to go around all sides, including the silent majority, as to how the situation got bad enough to be exacerbated and exploited by third parties. It is helpful to now see daily police press conferences and more frequent chief executive press conferences to communicate with the public. I think the local authorities as well as the pro-government political parties and population can still do more, being part of a democracy and in charge of one's own life takes a lot more work as compared to serving as colonial subjects.

They are ignorant of history, this is as much the fault of tunnel-vision-parenting usually focused on making money as it is any supposed failure of the education system. Getting the average person and the culture of the subjugated to grow out of the colonial subject "slave mentality" in a smooth productive practical manner is quite difficult as many other examples around the world have also shown. As with revolutions there is usually some reactionary blowback, this is part of Hong Kongers' growing pains in rejoining the independent Chinese people.

Wow this moment when the guy sit down in front of the policeman pointing his pistol at him is quite a dramatic scene.

The protests are really becoming dirty. At the beginning the cause was right and understandable, but now it's just turning as a political revolution. Attacking pro Chinese citizens who did nothing is just disgusting.

This garbage was never right or understandable and they were riots from the first day they started. Making sure criminals in the PRC have a safe haven in Hong Kong is justified?? Setting up a safe environment for CIA nests and other foreign intelligence against China in China is right? It's understandable? Everything they did from day one wreaked of stupidity, of self-hate, and confusion of who they are.
