Rumours persist that RAF P-8 order may be increased from 9 to 14 in a few years, not holding my breath though.

As to the F-35, dropping Paveways is nothing new but the sensor suite on the lightning is new, so it's more important to try that out and it would be more valuable in this scenario.

Just the threat alone will make the other powers expend resources to guard the ships even if they never capture one.
