I'm impressed by everything Huawei does but a rebound can't be this fast, can it? It's only been a few days since Ren said he's not expecting Huawei to return to growth for 2 years. We'll see what the next few months entail; maybe Ren was overly cautious in his estimate.

ZURICH (Reuters) - Huawei smartphone sales in Western Europe have risen "in the past few days" as customers grow more confident the Chinese company will weather U.S. sanctions imposed last month, an executive for the Chinese firm said on Friday.

The reported sales boost follows Huawei's offer of guarantees to that current phones and apps would be supported.

ZURICH (Reuters) - Huawei smartphone sales in Western Europe have risen "in the past few days" as customers grow more confident the Chinese company will weather U.S. sanctions imposed last month, an executive for the Chinese firm said on Friday.

The reported sales boost follows Huawei's offer of guarantees to that current phones and apps would be supported.

I'd be interested the context in which this is stated in. I doubt an executive would've just said this randomly out of the blue because anyone would understand that having "higher smartphone sales" in "past few days" is rather meaningless without saying how much it is up by, let alone whether they expect this is part of a return to trend or if it is simply a temporary fluctuation.

Without those details, at this point in time I'd say it's a bit of a non-story.

Americans have no right to claim, "not the American people" when called out for their crimes against humanity. Ignorance could be excused in the past, but not today. There's simply no way to avoid alternative news and opinions. Youtube comments on mainstream media videos routinely point out the murderous us regime's crimes and false flags. Similarly, they can't claim racist white police slaughtering innocent racial minorities are "isolated incidents" / "misunderstandings" / "self defence" because we can clearly see compliant unarmed individuals being gunned down in 720p with optional slow motion.

These "peace loving white christians" (who exterminated 98% of the First Nations people) who support the fascist totalitarian us regime are complicit in its crimes. This fact is undeniable.

It has overthrown or attempted to overthrow dozens of foreign governments since 1949 and has actively sought to crush nearly every single people’s liberation movement over that same period. It has also meddled in scores of elections, in countries that are allies and adversaries alike.

Yeah, like I noted, it's certainly not a trend yet and we'll have to see what happens in the coming months but this executive is saying that there are signs that the initial panic is subsiding. I'm certainly not delusional thinking the fight is over and Huawei has recovered because of what happened in a few days.

Unrelated to that:
Forget Xiaomi. I once said that the greatest danger to Huawei now is domestic competition from these Chinese cellphone firms that peddle American chips in their phones. $725m for domestic retail activities? Forget about it! They should use that to shoulder their share to develop some critical component that China is weak in. Xiaomi should be looking to fill the international void from Huawei's temporary retreat to prevent Samsung from clawing back up the ladder rather than trying to snatch domestic market from Huawei. If it wants to be a freeloader and contribute nothing to China's replacement parts, then the least it can do is focus on global sales, stay out of Huawei's way at home and then switch all its systems out to domestic after everyone else has already done the hard work developing them. Xiaomi needs a visit from the government to get their priorities lined up properly.

Its a Dog eat Dog world. Its not a surprise Xiaomi will try to kill off its competition.

That's a problem. Huawei is a company that supports Chinese technology. Xiaomi is a company out to make money even if it boosts Chinese market share of US technology at the expense of Chinese tech (which is technically a true statement for all current Chinese competitors to Huawei because they do use US technology, even the ones that hate the fact). As CMP said, these dogs need an owner with a tight leash and a big stick so he can wack any dog that starts to misbehave and bite the hands that feed it. The Chinese government would have to be a fool to let Xiaomi eat Huawei's lunch... if it can at all.

What's full mobilization? Finding a reason to shut down Xiaomi? LOL Yeah, we're definitely not there yet.

After all, it just says that Xiaomi planned to invest in domestic growth, which is hardly a devious act. It's American news that sensationalize this as an attack on Huawei. And let's not forget that Xiaomi did sign up to be a partner in testing Hongmeng OS. And maybe it did separately invest in China's homegrown technology; I don't know. I'm just saying that the Chinese government should really talk to these Chinese phone vendors to get them on board with a national strategy rather than let them bite each other like rabid hounds. Maybe that's already happened; I don't know but I hope so.

if its not xiaomi, then its vivo, oppo, samsung, apple or other brand, consumer will choose whatever fit their needs.
