Obviously they are very optimistic about the domestic market. However, they said nothing about their net income forecast. Planning to grow 20% YoY and then suddenly reversing to negative growth does leave their investments exposed and their credit repayment capacity stressed. They didn't say anything about increasing their R&D spending, but rather reassuring they would not be lowering it. Let's wait and see.
In case you don’t know, the Chinese government just gave semiconductor industry a two years tax holiday

What are you talking about? You gave the $100B for 2 years in your last post. What net income? You mean profit? Forget about profit. Huawei is going to be about losing as little market as possible while completely indigenizing for the near term. The company doesn't need to make profit every year to survive. This undertaking is about so much more than money, both for Huawei and for China as a whole.

Basically, the if things go as Ren planned, Huawei's finances shouldn't be too different in the 2 coming years than they were in 2018; every company should have plans to deal with market fluctuations that can cause growth or decline and repeating the revenue from a record year for 2 more years isn't considered a particularly difficult situation by most people's standards. Huawei's R&D is flexible; they will allocate funds as it becomes more clear which areas need more. One thing's for sure; Huawei's got the funds and the means to get more funds to do as much research as needed to forge its independence from American technology. It is only limited by the capability of its engineers, not its supply of money.

Huawei seems to have pressed the fast-forward button on its launch of self-developed new OS, due to hit the markets in the Fall.

It is now being speculated that the Chinese tech firm has sent

Huawei Reportedly Shipped 1 Million Smartphones with New OS for Testing

Time to end Google's reign.

So already one million smartphones shipped with new OS in the wild? Only in mainland China or in the entire world? Was it sideloaded or what? Wouldn't more consumers have talked about this if it was this many phones with the new OS already out the door? I thought based on the WuKong movie it wasn't coming until 9/22/2019.

The supply chain report also covered other companies, with Huawei tipped to release the ‘Hong Meng’ operating system in the fourth quarter as a replacement for Android. Huawei has allegedly shipped one million smartphones with the software onboard for testing, with the software also said to be compatible with all Android applications and has ‘increased security functions to protect personal data.’

I'm guessing single the most important sentence posted here while I slept tonight (the last sentence of #5331 manqiangrexue, Yesterday at 10:22 PM):
There should be no doubt that China's government has Hauwei's back in this should Huawei need it.

I've now read this thread from the fabulous quote
#5069 Red Moon, Today at 1:07 AM
down to here, and in the process I realized the problem of China would be the need to sell, sell, and sell more of cell phones etc. to Europe and everywhere else

China can achieve it's goals and objectives, the trade war gives China the impetus and motivation to become self-reliant.
