Not just Apple. Qualcomm also has their own core design.
But again, that's no help to Huawei.

Can you show me "competitive mobile CPUs not based on the ARM Cortex" from Qualcomm? There aren't any.

But I think they are fine as long as they use non-US designed ARM cores like the Cortex A73.

Cortex-A73 is outdated. Plus it doesn't make sense to hold out for an ARM Cortex generation to be produced at one of the design houses outside the US. That's obviously too unreliable. In addition, it's still uncertain whether the umbrella of "using US technology" would also extend over those Cortex designs.

China needs to do counter-sanctions much like Russia did. By basically putting counter sanctions on US chip designs they can ensure the semiconductor market will split and services will be made to cater the Chinese market. Which being much larger than the US market will mean chip design and manufacture will move out of the US.
China has all the pieces on its side if it wants to play the game.

Thanks a lot, you fellas. I'm a tech doofus but I've been really growing my knowledge talking to you guys and researching because of America's last stand here. If this is all true then it would make perfect sense that this ARM issue was included in Ren Zhengfei's speech and DC has run out of arrows in its quiver and it's getting increasingly desperate to inflict even some small inconvenience to China at any cost to itself. It won't be long before it's got nothing left except, "White people have to stick together to contain the yellow peril." LOL

Yeah, this trade war really taught me lots of things, especially tech related. China is playing such a HARD game, the US is forced to take off all its masks, and scraps to the bottom of its barrel.

Here is a good news via Dungeness. So what is the conclusion ? Huawei has architecture license that allow them to design their own core but Not license to use Cortex 73?

What we’re interested to see it whether or not Huawei replaces their pre-existing App Gallery app with Aptoide. The App Gallery is Huawei’s own app store that already comes with most of their devices. It’s relatively small compared to Aptoide which has over 900000 applications. We believe we could see Huawei merge Aptoide content into the App Gallery, but that remains to be seen.

Huawei is going hard, and it seems like they may have grand plans to make their own ecosystem here. Aptoide seems like a really logical solution to their problem, and we hope both companies come to an agreement. It’s made for some of the

Are RISC V or MIPS not viable options?

does Aptoide has any business etc in US? if so it will be similar to ARM issue.

Off topic: in case anybody miss out or overlook it, DJI and HIK Vision are also on the list of potential ban. However, I think it is less important as the two mentioned are less technology and less dependent on American tech.

Taxiya can tell you more about Aptoide

Aptoide started as a proposal of Paulo Trezentos at the 2009 Caixa Mágica Summer Camp.

The proposal was accepted and later became what today is Aptoide. This first stage of development was later developed in the scope of SAPO Summerbits.

The idea behind Aptoide came from different sources. On one hand, the research in Linux installers in Mancoosi European Project,

In the end of 2010, it was launched in the Bazaar Android site. Bazaar Android provided the possibility for the users to create their own store. In August 2012, Aptoide and Bazaar Android brands were merged to allow a better communication.

In 2013, Aptoide received a total of 750.000 euros in seed funding from Portugal Ventures.

In 2015, the company secured a Series A financing round of 3,7 million euros (4 million dollars), led by German venture capital firm e.ventures with co-investment from Gobi Partners (China) and Golden Gate Ventures (Singapore). The investment has allowed Aptoide to grow its team, currently having over 60 employees.

ARM and AMD have already formed joint ventures in China, where they have sold their patents to this Chinese joint ventures.
