Not only China but most of the world submarine use MTU But it is highly specialized naval diesel engine for submarine
Have they indigenized the MTU engine?

A 6-day joint naval exercise held by , concluded Sat in Qingdao, E China's Shandong. The defense exercise featured various joint drills and 2 submarines, 13 surface ships, as well as fixed-wing airplanes, helicopters, and marines participated in it.

All I know is that Shanxii produce MTU engines under license for military vessels.

Frigate Xiangtan is in Singapore, currently hosting the Singapore Defense Minister who is touring the ship.



I believe this same ship is headed for Australia for the IMDEX show.
