You are right, it could have made a great picture.
But, seriously, there is no operational interest in having the same helicopter on a type 055 and a type 901, unless you imagine that the only purpose of a helicopter is to provide logistical support.... And in that case, why a Z8 (C or not, I don't care…)
Media reporting surrounding the newer ship types has been horrible.
The CCTV guest speaker yesterday referred to the 052s as '092's. Hong Kong media, on their news broadcast, misidentified a Type 093 as a Type 095. Et cetera, et cetera.
Minnie Chan is but a representation of how confusing PLAN-watching can be to the uninitiated.
While the German Navy didn't send any ship, their Commander in Chief was there in the celebrations according to his tweets.

I think the Z-8 is simply too large for the Type 055's hangars
