Yes, it would have to pass prototyping stage first before even coming into service. And THEN we would need to wait months for it to make public appearance.

Agreed ... but one minor correction IMO: And THEN we would need to wait years for it to make public appearance.

Even more since there is nothing to show. Surely some will say, it was secretly built and already testflown ... but I'm sure XAC will not and cannot hide a huge flying wing design.

Let's keep our eyes peeled on 23 April, then. We've been waiting for this quite a while. Even if H-20 is a no show, I expect we'll see some interesting kit, Perhaps a good sized group of J-20s.

Why 23. April?? That's the PLAN's birthday?? ... the PLAAF celebrates its 70th anniversary on November 11.

April 23rd is the founding of the People's Liberation Army Navy.

I know and even mentioned it in my post, but my point is, what relevance has the PLAN's founding day with the possible unveiling of the PLAAF's stealth bomber? I simply don't get it.

You two are counting from different points. Deino is saying years between prototype showing up and public appearance. You are saying months between into service and public appearance.

One more thing to add. The appearance can be different as well. The appearance of the first J20 prototype 2001 on the tarmac of CAC, or the appearance of the first operational J-20 in a public air show years later. Both the starting point and ending point can mean differently.

Besides that, there is a chance that H-20 prototype may be spotted some time in 2019 because around August 2018 a very large S-shaped exhaust duct for x-type aircraft was fabricated and handed over to 1st Institute in Xi'an. So the first prototype of H-20 could be in the process of assembly right now. But I don't think XAC is in a hurry to have it taxing on any PLAF or PLA or National day unlike induction of operational piece.
