Legacy systems. And M4 is actually the same age as QBZ95. They were both entering service in The early 1990s. The weapons used before that were batches of CAR15 commandos left over from Veitnam.
A relic would be a system that is beyond obsolete and no longer has any practical use. A flint lock for example.
Obsolete would be something that is just very out classed by technology but can still have some function. Like say a bolt action rifle.

Looks like the fragments are really small. Somehow I do buy that ridiculous 11 meter kill zone figure with small shrapnells like these (prefab tungsten like the UGL variant?). Pieces like that do have a good velocity retainment over long distances.
I do hope that they demonstrate the airburst grenades next. We do have footages that they exist from earlier Zhuhai videos....

It's a round type normally used from a mounted tripod. As such yeah it's got a big kick. It wasn't designed to be fired from the shoulder.
What is this gun ?
