@localizer If you were an American citizen to begin with then that's definitely racism, if not then it's true enough...

@Air Force Brat By Obama perhaps you mean Carter, Reagan, HW Bush, Clinton, W Bush, as well as Trump, and most of all American bosses and investors who pocket the lion's share of the difference when they offshore American jobs, know-how, and technology to many foreign countries in addition to China? Not to mention not investing in Americans i.e. education or training or retraining, but importing non-"rocket scientist"-level workers and students and granting them citizenship instead?
He’s doing the same thing many of them are doing to me on a daily basis.

Telling me “to go back to China” as if there is a “back” for people like me who has been here for 30 years ever since I came here as a kid.

Reminds me of the Vice doc on those Chinese railroad worker descendants who lived here for 100+ years and still treated like fresh off the boat.

I have long found that there is a racism spectrum within the US, with racism towards some groups being treated as literally a different category as racism towards all other groups (anti semitism, because regular racism just isn’t strong enough a term); while racism towards other groups, specifically Chinese, Mexicans and now Middle Eastern groups, is effectively institutionalised to the point of normality.

SAO PAULO: Brazil’s 2018/19 soybean harvest reached 2.1 percent of the planted area this week, well ahead of the 0.1 percent seen at this time last year and the five-year average of 0.4 percent, consultancy AgRural said on Friday.

The consultancy said in a weekly report that Paraná, with 6 percent of the area, and Mato Grosso, with 3.9 percent, are leading harvesting work. It said farmers have started planting the second corn crop, which is done right after soybeans are harvested, in a rotation system.

That's all true enough but it is not enough because it is not the whole truth. If immigrants, both legal and illegal, and minorities don't help recognize or address the genuine problems immigration and diversity are interconnected with (economic and opportunity inequality, cultural change, etc) that make a practical everyday difference for society at large, including negatively on existing citizens and the existing majority then that leaves a vacuum for those issues to fuel prejudices like racism.

In other words, when immigrants and minorities buy into or turn a blind eye to economic prejudice in society at large in order to benefit themselves they are fueling other forms of prejudice like racism because they are not helping address real problems that they are part of, since they are actually part of society at large regardless of legality or cultural assimilation, even if they are not in total control. There is plenty of blame and karma to spread around.

There is truth in what you say but people need to let of some steam and vent once in awhile. Breaking the vicious cycle starts from the top. Sadly our national leader likes to fan the flame and expect his subordinate to loyally tow the line. Moreover, many of his constituent follows this lead as the new norm and exacerbate the normalization of racism. No meaningful end in sight.

They were asking why Google wants to "help" China, when they don't want to do so for the US Army.
But the problem is, why weren't there a hearing for Google Vietnam. I remember Google was also helping the government to censor results. Senate hearing is not really a positive signal for Google's plan to head back to China. As for the employee, I really dont know why they have not quit the company since they were so against the projects

I think you already know the answer. It's all good because it does not fit narrative to smear China.

Google China senate hearing on other hand is a lazy person's dog and pony show for their audience. Easy and visible target, politically safe and practically zero resistance.

First off, you could post your handful of beans, beside the handful of beans Master Jura posted,,, your handful of beans contains splits, green immature beans, which will not store well, and a very high percentage of debris, clearly an inferior product, and those are some small beans there.... cheerio!

Not monsanto, but close. We charge a lot for the seeds because it takes many years to breed them.

You should try being Chinese American in a midwest seed company in today's environment. Thanks to Trump, they all think I'm trying to steal stuff when I can't even read or write Chinese. Before it was less bad.

We're actually moving towards flying and land drones for all aspects of farming just to get rid of the human factor.

Actually we've been flying and doing infrared photography for a long, long time, my brother the "crop scientist" has been using both fixed wing and rotary winged drones for over 10 years.....

There's still a very strong need for the "crop scout" to get out in the field and "scout" the actual condition of the crop and weeds populations by observation, weeds often "take over", in a "wet spot", where the seed has failed to germinate and produce a viable crop, a wet spot can be a few feet across, or 50 acres, in addition, soil fertility, nematodes, mold and fungi, bugs, and weeds, that's just the short list, LOL!

Yeah, I experienced that as well when I was in US & UK. In the US, I was taken aback when someone in a starbucks used the term "Go the f**k back to Saudi, Sand Ni**er" while I was standing in the line waiting my turn to order a coffee. I didn't have the time, or the brain cells to waste on someone with an IQ of 0, so I left. I'm not even Saudi, I am from Pakistan. In the UK, it was weird, because at the time I didn't even know the slur the person used, was racist. This one was at the subway station, waiting on the platform, and the dude pushed me to get on the train. Remarked as he went past me, "fu**in Paki." It's only when someone on the platform told me that it's a racist term for anyone South Asian, did I realize what that meant.

I personally don't care either way about racism, simply because it is done by those who don't have an iota of intellect, and who definitely have some major insecurities about themselves or where they're from. Racism is used to compensate for those shortcomings.
