????????? Why would you need more than one Chinese passport?

High level corporate officers especially for multi-nationals tend to travel a great deal internationally. One can run out of pages for border stamps and visas very quickly. I don't know if China issues a high capacity passport with more pages. In Canada you can apply for a frequent traveler passport with more pages than a standard passport.

For some countries with more strict visa control, it's also a good idea to bring along your old passport containing expired/used visas in case customs agents are doing more detailed document inspections.

Also I believe Ms Meng has a Hong Kong passport as well.

China has three type of passports: private, business, and diplomat.

Private: personal business or go to schools;
Business: any official business;
Diplomat: central government officials on official business travels (example: if a person was invited to travel with President Xi, the person will be issued a diplomatic passport).

She better get the hell out of that sassy pose and jet back to China before she gets kidnapped too LOL

Why do neither of Ren Zhengfei's kids share his last name?

The big picture is the US will arrest Chinese executives if they don't obey US not international law. That's how they will stop China's ascendency in this world. On the other end, the media is already writing stories that US corporations will less likely do business in China due to fears they will be arrested in retaliation. The blanket charge is Huawei is a national security threat... to the US. But of course that makes Americans think they can act beyond the confines of the US. Can China do that? No, which should tell everyone in the world Americans don't believe in equality under any law. Remember the gave a waiver to South Korea where they can sell their products to Iran to which the charges against Huawei are based. They charge that China is working to undermine the world order. Why not since the world order plays favorites and works to undermine countries that don't bend the knee to the US into what is essentially volunteer slavery.

See how the media doesn't even mention this is kidnapping and extortion under the guise of the law. The fact is they can make up charges and hold foreign citizens prisoner for long amounts of time under the guise of due process. They can hold fake trials knowing the charges will be eventually dropped due to lack of evidence but that could take years. The US wants political hostages and prisoners. Because the US doesn't recognize they commit the very crimes they accuse of other countries of doing, that's called being a sociopath incapable of knowing right or wrong except for what serves themselves.

People are claiming Trump and Trudeau had no advanced knowledge of this arrest. If that's true, that's a case against their democracy. You can see why it's so important for them to make China into their version of democracy so they can influence those in power outside of elective office.

You can interpret is glass half empty or half full. There will always ebb and flow in internal demand but consumption part of the GDP seem to held up The overseas demand keep rising due to attractiveness of Chinese export It is not easy to replace Chinese export. The US share of export keep going down now it is only 13% of total export

According to official figures, Chinese foreign trade in the first 11 months of the year reached about 4056 billion USD, up 11.1%. The trade surplus, 285 billion USD, is down 21.1%. The exchange with the United States accounts for 13.7% of China's foreign trade.

Per definition increasing trade surplus means insufficient internal demand.

The direct connections between countries doesn't matter.
It is like a complex electrical network, the path between two point can be very complicated, but the most important is the generator and the main consumer.

So, it doesn't really matter if the direct surplus /deficit is low between two country, China is one of the main exporter, and USA is the main importer .

As soon as USA start to decrease the deficit the Chinese surplus will decrease.
