Remind me why we're so sure this is a WS-10 variant engine? Wasn't the hint that 15 petals means WS-15? Or was semantics an issue of contention ruling that out or was it just grainy initial TVC nozzle photos where we couldn't count the numbers properly. It is almost definitely 15 petals.
Would be interesting to see fight between J-10 variant with TVC and Su-35. So that chinese would be able to match up their performance of TVC vs Russian ones.
Apparently that's already happened according to a rumour (not sure how credible) but rumours are all we'll ever get in this.
Allegedly Su-35 pilots in PLAAF are very pleased with the fighter and when matched against J-10 (no TVC and no idea what type), they were determined to be better. Against ESA equipped J-10s and after refining some tactics, the J-10s had the upper hand owing to better electronics and jamming or something. Basically developing ways to effectively counter Su-30MKIs as part of the Su-35's purpose in PLAAF. The take away from the rumour is that latest Chinese radar and electronics can "bully" the systems on Su-35. I don't know if the Russians have sold downgraded versions or keep the best stuff for themselves and maybe also for India. Hard to have any solid conclusions from that rumour though.

Why? It shouldn’t be surprising if China has better radars than Russia now. They have a far more dominant and world leading radio technology industry. The expertise is there.

Useless to discuss it with the brainless Russia stronk and USA stronkists. Somebody asked, I relayed the rumour and persistently explained this is a rumour and no conclusions can be drawn regarding Russian capability even if the rumour is true. But even then, this butthurt guy has to have a bitch about it and add nothing of value to the discussion except to reveal his insecurity. If one chooses to believe it's all false and made up, they are welcome to. No need to tell the rest of us what they think. This discussion doesn't need a thousand dogshit style opinions with zero substance.
