Z-9 Transport Question

Hello, all-

First time poster trying to get some information and references for 3D modelers. I have been trying to find information or photos that can tell me if the Z-9, when used in the assault-transport role, mounts a door gun(s) at times. I have seen the photo floating around of the air assault with helicopter rope suspension techniques, but could not spot any.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :)

EB

PS: Don't worry, if it doesn't have them, we're not going to put them on it. We're trying to make things as authentic as possible. :)

Do you mean the support helicopter Z-9 or the WZ-9 the attack helicopter of the Z-9 dervirative. Door guns like the 50 cal equipped on some of the Black Hawks, wouldn't be supprising if the PLAAF did the same on their Z-9's. The PLAAF treats their Z-9 and Mi-17 like the US Black Hawks

Yes, I do mean on the Z-9 utility support helicopter, not the attack variant. :) That wouldn't surprise me either, but I'm trying to find something (either info or photos) concrete so the modelers I support in the game mod for which I work have more to go on. Don't want to create a fantasy helicopter like the Battlefield 2 Z-8A rocket armed assault-transport.

I do't think pla will fit machine guns on their z-9 like black hawk's, as if they do so how many infantryman can board the chopper? z-9 is a 2 ton-class light transport helicopter with at most 10 troops on board. By the way, it is said wz-9 can have 4 troops on board as well. so it is not worth to develop anther vertion of z-9 just equiped with machine guns.

It can carry four troops, as well? Interesting. The photos I have seen of the improved WZ-9G (or is it GZ-9), it seems to have the rear doors removed and replaced with solid panels. I thought that was unusual, since isn't that from where the ammunition for the 23mm cannons, if installed, would be fed?

from the following site you see the some z-9 pics. Actually, the one I mentioned that can transport 4 troops should be the Z-9W or Z-9G. In chinese, "W" is the abbreviation of WuZhuang which means armed or equiped with weapons. "G" is the abbreviation of GaiJing or GaiZhuang which means improved. Therefore, z-9w/g are not specific attack helicopters. In my opinion, they are more likly testing ones for wz-10 and training crafts for pilots. I am not sure whether wz-9 can have troops on board, but I think it can, as pla just changed some advanced weapons and elec stuff on the chopper.
