The film will be based on the 1998 animated film of the same name about a woman in ancient China who disguises herself to take her father's place in the army.

Liu has starred in several English films before, including The Forbidden Kingdom, Outcast and last year’s The Chinese Widow.

Three Chinese martial arts stars — Donnie Yen, Jet Li and top actress Gong Li — have also been confirmed for the all-star cast.

The film is set to hit the big screen on March 27, 2020.

PARIS - China saw their hope of advancing into the quarter-finals denied after conceding an own goal in the stoppage time to tie Nigeria 1-1 at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Group D's final round action on Monday.

After maintaining their 1-0 lead until five minutes into the stoppage time, China failed to withstand Nigeria's last attack throughout the match, suffering an own goal from right back Dou Jiaxing against her opponent Rasheedat Ajibade.

China to strengthen robotics industry and accelerate use of smart machines

The nation will ramp up resources to strengthen international cooperation as it strives to build a globally competitive robotics industry and accelerate the use of smart machines in manufacturing, healthcare and other sectors.

Miao Wei, minister of industry and information technology, the nation's industry regulator, said with robotics getting increasingly intertwined with artificial intelligence, big data and other technologies, the sector is playing an important role in driving economic growth.

"China, as the world's largest robot market, sincerely welcomes foreign companies to partake in the strategic opportunity to jointly build a global industrial ecosystem," Miao said at the opening ceremony of the 2018 World Robot Conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
