Lieutenant General
Royal Navy will look like this and now let’s be honest this is not going to change apart from ARG

Sub-surface

4 x SSBN

7 x SSN

Naval aviation

2 x Carriers

Surface force

6 x DDG and 13 x FFG

What can change is 3-commando brigade

1 x LHD and 2 x LPD

Maintain replacement for HMS Ocean and 2 x Albion Class LPD

Keep separate carrier force from amphibious assault, currently they are trying to mix them by using 2 x Carriers with Chinnoks for littoral missions big no no

That is where an increase will benefit but the escort force will be stretched beyond limits with just 19 units

14 x Voyagers

Transport

8 x C17, 22 x A400 and 14 x C130J

Patrol aircraft

9 x P8, 6 x E3 AWACS, 3 x Rivet and 8 x Shadow

That’s 84 large aircraft let’s be honest that’s a very large force

Can add more A400 possibly

Fighters

Can probably add 1-2 more squadrons

I believe the long term plan has always been to have four frontline squadrons of F-35Bs, two with RAF number plates and two with FAA Number plates, though the last two sqns won't stand up until the mid to late 2020s due to the slow delivery rate of aircraft currently planned for. That could always change... but don't hold your breath.

and other media outlets reported. The BAE Type 26 frigates, to be named Hunter-class, will be built in Australia by the state-owned ASC Shipbuilding at its Osborne Naval Shipyard. The Wall Street Journal reported the yard will become a BAE subsidiary during the length of the contract.

ASC, which operates three shipyards in Australia, builds the Hobart-class air warfare destroyer for the Royal Australian Navy, and built and maintains Australian’s fleet of six Collins-class submarines, according to the company.

BAE, maker of the 7,000-ton Type 26 design, had been competing against Italian-based Fincantieri and Spain-based Navantia for the contract. While the Fincantieri and Navantia designs are both being considered for the future U.S. Navy frigate competition, the BAE Type 26 and Type 31 were not eligible for the U.S. frigate, contest because the rules required designs submitted to already in service, not a concept or in production.

Last year, BAE started building the first batch of what will ultimately be a fleet of eight Type 26 frigates for the U.K. Royal Navy. The design is also under consideration by the Royal Candian Navy for its future frigate.

“The ships specialize in anti-submarine warfare, protecting the U.K.’s overseas territories and interests across the globe. The flexible design will allow the capabilities to be adapted throughout its lifespan to counter future threats,” the

in a statement when the contract was announced.

Interesting this changes us of parrot posts ...

Transport Fleet 44 big birds ! is very decent with big cargos more capable than French :(

But 9 P-8 in more if they are used for SIGINT/ELINT or others are not sufficient the good number is to about 15 despite better 9 than 0 !

2 x F35 and 7 x Typhoon
Can probably add 1-2 more squadrons
Yes

Actualy 0 ( 0.4 about :) not full... ) x F-35 + 2 x Tornados + 5 x Typhoon : 7 Combattants Sqns
For end of year 1 x F-35 + 2 x Tornados + 6 x Typhoon : 8 Combattants Sqns
2019 1 x F-35 + 7 x Typhoon : 8 Combattants Sqns
After normaly in 2023 with no Typhoon Tranche 1 retired* in 2 Sqns one F-35 Sqn in more ( 809 RN ) : 9 Combattants Sqns an increase + 2

*Very possible at least a part if UK buy more than 48 up to 138 F-35s but even with 138 the fighter Fleet is not going to increase to about 300 with actual deliveries in average IIRC 6/year

Tankers

14 x Voyagers in fact 9 + 5 in surge
And i have only 7 × KC2, 5 × KC3 : 12 tankers capable but not 2 KC3 good ?
