it is the stupid journalist spin In the original interview there is nothing that doubt the air wing prowess.The pilot just said you need luck, steel nerve etc which can apllied to any carrier landing. Because no matter how good you are or your equipment there is always element of luck. Carrier landing is dangerous bussiness Imagine barelling at 400km /hr and make complete stop at post stamp size air field
