Off to school!!!

Being a Minnesota native, I can feel your pain! But I still remember school being let out during year-end finals (End of May) so we could shovel snow when I was in junior high school. That was so not fun! Then we had to go back to school in long-sleeved shirts to finish taking our final exams...

Between my sophomore and junior years, we got snow the first week of June, after getting out for summer vacation...

"Walked barefoot 40 miles through the blinding snow uphill each way with no jacket..." I know, I know... ;-)

You lucky S.O.B.s!! My school district is notorious for never having snow days. Might change this year though. Last year the one time we should have had a snow day they didn't do it so half the people didn't come and the superintend caught a lot of flack for that. Of course here in southern Wisconsin it doesn't snow nearly as much as it used to. which sucks for a cross country skier like me!

hum, i guess i am the only person who doesnt really care for snow. while its nice to be let off from school, the negative part of snow fall is too much for me to take. I hate cold and wet and the whole slushy ice that is left over for the rest of the winter. Even tho maryland doesnt get much snow anyway, i still wish i am living somewhere in New Mexico.

right... let's try that on a stereotypical chinese parent... they'll probably make you go to school even though you have a cold/flu/broken arm/anything that's not life threatening.

Really?..My dad must have been Chinese. Because you had to be on your death bed to stay home from school when I was a kid!

My ex-wife was from the Philippines and all my kids had to do was say " mommie I don't..you fill in the blank"..and boom! They could stay ome from school...And she would tell them not to tell me...

ehhh i doing it right now

Yeah it's Friday..so What the F**k>>:D Who cares!?

You may be in for some punishment :nono: :nono:

Just kidding of course.

When I was in HS we had a very open campus "back in 'da day" and if you did not want to go some class there was really no one to stop you from leaving the campus. When I was in the 11th & 12th grade I seldom went to assemblies..they were always at 2pm and we go out at 3pm. Believe you me I was not the only one ditching assemblies...:D

My school is pretty much perfectly situated for ditching. My friend has a house directly across the street, there's pretty much no enforcement in the parking lot and there are a couple of good restaurants/cofee shops for getting lunch and stuff right near by. But I don't ditch ever ditch...they always nail you with a truancy. Once or twice I've missed water polo practice which is uses up your last period of school (and then some) but that is a totally different matter. Its so easy its not even funny :)nono:  ) but everybody still comes.

Hey Popeye-At my school they call all the assemblies "rallies" so you go expecting something entertaining but half the time its something boring/depressing. Last time I went to one I was expecting your typical high school rally fare but I ended up getting an hour lecture about landmines in third world countries...
