Bangladeshi media is trumping up rumor that Bangladesh signs a contract with China to supply 16 J-10C and 7 K-8 training aircraft. Is there any confirmation from Chinese side?
Bangladesh attempted to acquire Su-35 or Su-30SME that failed due to pricing concern . Now Mig-35 also failed due to ToT clauses by Bangladesh and besides Mig-35 does not have IOC.
Please advise me whether BAF attempt to acquire J-10C will fail again?

There isn't any doubt in my mind that J-10C is a superb combat aircraft that would prove lethal in the hands of any well honed Air Force. Bangladesh may not be a large or the best air force in the world, but it has some very talented and ambitious pilots. If they manage to get J-10s, I say good for them. With a population that size, is the country's biggest asset and needs to protect her interests.

There is no rumor about J-10 D in PAF. However, IMV J-10D for PAF would likely happen because I foresee a gap that would most effectively be filled by J-10D.

1. JF-17, like F-16, is a cropped delta with high wind loading and it can not be expected to be agile at high altitude.
2. With much lower wing-loading, J-10 could be more effective at high altitude. When configured for air superiority, J-10D would be much more effective than JF-17.
3. There would be a need to have a new AESA-equipped top-end fighter for PAF, since F-16 can not fill that position.
4. J-10D with AESA radar, IRST, Thrust vectoring, and other goodies would be able to face-off the best enemy airforce could throw at it.
5. Pakistan does not have the finances to afford a sizeable fleet of 5th gen stealth fighters. The indigenous project "Azm" is can not realistically be ready in foreseeable future.

For all the above reasons, I do believe that we shall see J10D in PAF colors. There is but one proviso - J-10 combat radius needs to improve somehow.

How do we know for sure it exists? apart from some hearsay, we don't know anything about it let alone whether it will be sold. Why would PAF go for another fourth gen fighter when everyone is trying to get 5th gen? Makes no sense and I doubt we'll ever see J-10 variant in PAF. Maybe FC-31 if costs and politics allow.

PAF will acquire J-10 B, C or D whatever it is called with indigenous engine. It is just matter of time. There is many reasons for it. One main reason is PAF F-16s are again in trouble water as history is repeating itself, not sure if spare parts will have continuous supply from USA. Also the number of F-16 PAF planned has not full filled and there is very bleak or almost no chance that PAF can acquire more. Previously PAF was hesitant due to engine choke problem of AL-31F. Also it do not want to be hostage or take risks of single Russian source for all of its engines supply. So J-10 with indigenous chinese engine are second bests what PAF can acquire or afford for the time being.

It does not matter what we call the newest iteration of J-10. Call it J-10C with TVC or J-10D. The important thing is that it exists and we are free to discuss it. Feel free to ignore the discussion, but do not denigrate it.

The J-10 variant with a modified thrust-vectoring WS-10 nozzle is just a J-10B demonstrator for thrust-vectoring nozzles. I don't think J-10D is confirmed yet.
