50,000 is the vietnam claim. And it probably include both killed and wounded.

Actually both sides suffered comparable casulties, the difference is that PLA was advancing and vietnam seems unable to stop them. Vietnam-China border area is mountainous and PLA stopped short of the flat north vietnam plain.
