The Last Jedi did not disappoint... my worst expectations. Don't read any further if you care.

I'm not going to reveal spoilers. I'll just say they didn't learn from the last time even though they said they were hearing the criticism. Why would they care to hear the criticism if the Force Awakens was such a spectacular success? There was a lot of why-did-this-just-happen? It served no purpose. It was just filler. The critically negative the last time around cynically said The Last Jedi was going to be a repeat of Empire Strikes Back. No, it was Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi both together. Not that they were copying the storylines. They were repeating stuff that happened in those movies. Carrie Fisher's death obviously had a major affect. What happened in the last scene says there's a major shift from what they planned. It's essentially going to be a start over and it was rumored that how they handle Carrie Fisher's death is Episode 9 will jump in time, maybe ten years at least ahead, and Leia dies in between the two which also explains how the last scene will play in the next movie.

My ratings are as follows for it. I am a die hard Star Wars fan.

As a casual viewer: 7 or 8 out of 10
As a Star Wars fan: 4 or 5

I wasn’t a fan of Loopers and I knew Rian Johnson wouldn’t give me what I wanted. And to think Disney is giving him 3 more Star Wars movies to play with. But I can’t blame him completely. Disney and JJ never really hashed out the details of the whole trilogy (yes, they the whole story arch developed) and focused on TFA too much. To me if I were to watch TLJ again I would probably fall asleep especially during the scenes of Finn and Rose which is completely irrelevant.

Also some of the humor in the movie was overblown. Ever since Disney and Kathleen Kennedy took over they have been trying to add in the abnoxious MCU humor to movies which if you seen Thor Ragnorak and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 you’ll understand after seeing TLJ.

The film was enjoyable in a way, but I dont think it had the feel of a real Star Wars film.
