Longer, less draught and more power than USN Supply class, so should do better than that type's 25 knots.
Almost identical with a Supply a little more long and yes possible according the power 26 - 27 kn ?

But the Supply in fact is not the more big the Sacramento was a little more big 53000 t, 242 m !

I think the more big replenishment ships never build

But the more interesting is the speed only classes capable get same or almost speed than Combattants which is important for the TG/TF speed

And Cargo Capacity
Supply : fuel ships/aviation 22000 tons, Ammos 1800 t, logistic water, food etc.. 650 tons
Flottes de Combat book ...
Sacramento : 22000, 1950, 500
Type 901 ? : similar to Supply a little more maybe

Wrong numbers for sure especialy ammos

new class waiting

It's arrived at the base for sure they will start formation sailing and carrier replenish

What a sight that will be

Then we might start to see CV-16 start on true international missions far from home

With underway replenishing they can go far and wide

I don't think this is just a side by side photo

The significance is much larger

Chinese carriers coming to a port near you

In response to incorrect information presented by CCTV, pop3 revealed some specifications of 903A.

  • Fuel for replenishment: 6600t
  • Water (potable and boiler) for replenishment: 750t
  • Dried goods (food and munitions) for replenishment: 630t
  • Fuel for self: ~2000t
  • Cruise speed: 18kn
  • Max speed: 20kn
  • Replenishing speed: 10-14kn
  • Max Beaufort wind tolerance: level 12
He also revealed that desalination equipment is now standard, not premium like it once was. Numerous older vessels have been retrofitted with desalination capability.

However, sailors still prefer dedicated potable water from replenishment vessels because desalinated water tastes strange. The potable water compartments on PLAN vessels are built to high standards, lined with special materials, and SOP requires regular sample tests to ensure non-contamination.

Max speed 20 knots that's a bit slow

Short of the fast carrier resupply we thought could he mean 30 knots ?

Carrier strike groups move fast if Type 901 struggles to keep pace it will require its own escort like Type 054A FFG

All liquid samples on board NATO/Western replenishment tankers require sampling and have their own dedicated team of chemists who carry out analytical experiments to ensure high standard of supply's and traceability to work out where if indeed a contamination occurred

Good to see China also joining this club

Jobjed's post was talking about 903A not 901.

We've always known 903A's top speed is more in keeping with a standard replenishment ship rather than a fast combat support ship.

That's probably because the desalination plants aren't taking the final step of adding some minerals/salts back into the desalinated water, and the sailors are essentially drinking straight up distilled water, which obviously tastes flat. I've read that you can easily get used to drinking desalinated water. If you drink enough of it and don't drink regular water you will forget what regular water tastes like pretty soon. A lot of visitors to ME countries have to deal with this issue.

Nuclear powered is not feasible unless the warship is over 50,000 or 60,000 tons

Then you have to take into account all the future changes that would result in the barrel going over $140 per barrel

This unit doesn't look like a 50,000 toner

How feasible is this ? It's totally feasible

How real is this ? Unless the government has really shifted its policy's and now turned to nuclear propulsion in naval warships not real

So next question is has there been any news in the last year about nuclear naval propulsion from any Chinese establishment, regarding breakthrough or development?

Also which exhibition was this at ?

Depending on that we will able better able to judge until then I would put a hold on this
