Theoretically maybe. but Silent Eagle... is as dead a Thanksgiving Turkey. No one bought in. It seemed like a cool idea but with no one willing to lay out the $$ it went bust. Parts of it still exist as options and will feed into F15SA, F15QA and upgrades for the existing Eagles in the form of the F-15 Advanced Eagle, but Every one who looked at F15SE and F35 all chose F35, Or a more conventional F15 upgrade.
Japan and South Korea two countries who would seemingly argue what color the sky is both made the same choice and asked for F35As.
The Japanese Existing F15 fleet is based on the F15J and F-15J Kai they will likely be kept in service for sometime with system updates like what Boeing has offered the USAF in the F15 2040C concept, IRST, data link compatible with fifth gens, increased missile load, conformal fuel tanks upgraded radar improved self defence systems. For both the JASDF and USAF hope to be phasing the types out about the same time period in the 2040's.

Not if the President pardons it, if you get what I meant. Trump is pretty tight with Boeing right now and kept on hawking more Superhornets to the navy.

Unlikely he harped up more Super hornets but then sighted the check for more F35's the DOD makes the call in the end and although I hope to see upgrades for the F15E and F15C I doubt the SE will spread it's wings.

For Ground Self Defense Force. At first they were sheduled to station in a JGSDF newly built garrison with an apron near the Saga Airport from 2019 but as they have problems with buying the estate from a private owner for now and it looks like those Ospreys will be stationed in Kisarazu garrison or, closer to original plan, somewhere on Kyushu Island for now.

Why would anyone buy this"Widow maker". If Japan want to kill their pilot fast this is the best way to do it This plane is accident prone and known as "Widow maker"As recently as last month close to Okinawa. It is so bad the Okinawan has been protesting the basing of V22 on their island
This design concept is defective in the first place and it should never get off the ground. It is classic case of pork barrel They should just buy a simple helicopter

But developing that concept to its fullest has proven extremely costly, and according to critics, the promise was never truly fulfilled. The project’s cost ballooned from a $68.7 million design contract in 1983 (the aircraft’s maiden flight took place in 1989) to $29.1 billion for research and procurement

, when the estimated average cost per vehicle was $83.7 million. By 2012,

put the total cost at $56 billion and the cost per unit at $100 million.

Variants of the venerable
