Bits of truth are revealed from years of speculation. Indians talking endless trash about Chinese programs from years ago and now one by one, successful projects are revealed. Same people thought highly of LCA and regarded it to being superior to J-10. We are starting to see the reality.

However this program is still important and does show India is capable of something so few countries can pull off on its own regardless of where the origin of designs and components come from. We have to remember that history has not ended and the race is not over. There will be a day where China and India catch up and surpass the West and Russia. This is almost a certainty. Everyone can laugh now, but the real winners are hard at work improving, while the real losers are the ones laughing.

Well, there was a lot of noise in India about this over the last few days. The US personnel onboard Vikramaditya (Kiev Class CV with Russian Aviation Complex & Mig-29's) was documented with photos, but it is Indian owned and I don't believe Russia subjects arms clients to the same restrictions and inspections as the US does with weapon systems sold.

The Akula II would be a different story since it is a lease and strategic platform. Not long after news broke, sources in India claimed it was not US personnel, but British, who were brought onboard the sub to evaluate a possible DSRV system. Now a Russian official seems to be denying the story altogether and saying it is a further attempt to split India & Russia. Never a lack of drama in this India-Russia-USA 3-way!

Reports of India allowing a group of US military officials to visit the Russian-made INS Chakra – an Indian Navy attack submarine – are not based in reality, the head of the Russian military cooperation agency said.
Claims of a rift in Russian-Indian military cooperation were

last week by the defense news website StrategyPage, and circulated in Russia by business daily Kommersant. The report claimed that India had allowed a group of US Navy personnel to visit the Russian-made Chakra attack submarine, in violation of the lease contract. The nuclear-powered Chakra was transferred to the Indian Navy in 2012 after serving for three years under the name Nerpa in Russia.

Commenting on the claim on Monday, Dmitry Shugaev, the head of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, called the report “bogus.”

“We will not respond to such provocations,”he told Rossiya 24.“Somebody is trying by all [sorts] of tricks to push us out, but India remains our strategic partner. And Indian people and its leadership see us as their strategic partners,”he explained.

India is currently one of world’s biggest arms buyers, investing heavily in the modernization of its armed forces. Russia is a traditional provider of sophisticated military hardware for Delhi, building aircraft and naval ships of designs adopted for India’s requirements. The two countries also cooperate on a number of high-profile joint defense projects, like the ramjet supersonic BrahMos cruise missile.

Indian war machine grounded
With monster weight of 68 Ton the Arjun is too heavy according to the Indian army. They don't want anymore of Mk1 or Mk2 Arjun
Tejas with range of only 400km and payload of 3 Ton is maintenance intensive. Make no sense according to Indian Airforce.
The continuing saga of Indian army procurement continue tune in

If the Americans offer Transfer of Technology, maybe F-16 is the right choice. Then there is difficulties integrating all these different jets with weapons and networks.

You wouldn't even want to know what happens in PLA I suppose...

Watch this it work in real war!

What is wrong with China weapon? Year by year the value of Chinese made weapon export grew bigger and bigger
So much so that China is now the 3rd largest weapon exporting country in the world exceeding the Frenchie by wide margin.
There must be some happy customer out there
Thailand order 3 submarines to the tune of 1 billion dollar so do Myanmar with JF17 Now Laos just sign in 250 million weapon order
Saudi Arabia just order 300 UAV heck they even order the plant that make the UAV
Bangladesh just receive 2 submarine 2 type 56 patrol boat
The list goes on and on

has become less dependent on arms imports over the past five years due to increased military capabilities at home, while boosting its own exports by 74 per cent, according to a report released on Monday.

The study by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute also showed a continuing arms race in Asia Pacific amid the escalation of tensions in the South China Sea, with Beijing's Asian neighbours drastically increasing their arms purchases since 2012.

Comparing two five-year periods between 2007-11 and 2012-16, the volume of Chinese exports of major arms increased by 74 per cent. Its share of the global total of exports rose from 3.8 to 6.2 per cent, making it the third-largest supplier in the world, following the

The Arjun is a perfectly fine MBT, except that when designing it, the builders forgot that you can't drive a 60 ton MBT alongside irrigation canals*, of which Punjab has so many.

*Well, I suppose you could, but it's pretty hard for the crew to get out of a tank that's upside down in at least one meter of water.

A heavy tank in weight of any kind doesn't necessary mean it is all bad. It's just not as fuel efficient and lack range but it is at least pretty robust.
