Thanks for the new sources, the bilibili video at 4:05 indeed looks like camera in the chaser plane. Now I am back on the original point.

Yes, the missile launching looks 99.9% CG to me. The plume tells everything.

They motion blurred the missile when its relative horizontal speed is 0. I also think the camera jet is in a very dangerous place if it is indeed following a missile launch test.

While the missile is fake, the opening and closing of the weapons bay is definitely authentic. Here is a GIF image of the movements in action.

Well the expert might be wrong the purported missile shot come from this Zhuhai promovideo at 4:05
Look legit to me. It would be hard to CG the firing sequence which we clearly see in this video

The missile is very obviously CG since the lighting doesn't match the background.

Lighting of the contrail as well as the actual missile.

Strangely enough, China would be imbecilic not to put the J-31 into at least limited service. It's essentially an F-35 knockoff, the primary opponent of the J-20. The J-31, if upengined and gold-plated for DACT purposes, would make a great pseudo-F-35 for the J-20 to practice with. It is an aircraft designed for purer stealth than the J-20, and can help train J-20 pilots to dominate the F-35.
