So the delay is acceptable ?

I don't know what you mean by this

This is the reason why company's fail there is such a thing as too much state control

Things are easy government is involved then the collapse happens

The aviation market is a one of the toughest markets, if china wants success in this sector they have to be ruthless and get out the service

Relying on government orders is not a solution if you want to conquer the international aviation market

Off course ARJ21 and C919 were not designed for international market as such but you get my point

Government should not spoil COMAC and turn up the heat

Well yes. If there is a delay with C-919, the airlines can order alternatives. It's not like the Chinese aviation market is stagnant. It is growing, so airlines can still use the airplanes.

Unlike the Indian airline industry which is collapsing under inept state management, Chinese airlines actually do actually have to operate in a competitive market, and compete with each other and also the high-speed railway network.

I wouldn't say COMAC is being spoiled, as the order numbers are reasonable, and will allow COMAC to build up expertise so it can stand on its own. The number of Airbus and Boeing jets that the Chinese airlines are going to order in the next 5 years will be far larger.

But to admit, maiden flight in May 2017 and since then NOTHING, no additional flight is not "normal debugging" esp. given the experiences with the A.320-facility. The equally nee Russian MS-21 already had several more flights only a few weeks after maiden flight .. so IMO even if I don't know what's wrong, it is far from a regular progress.

Starting at around 1:05, the reporter said "before it's (C919 #101) leaving for long-distance flight tests, #101 has completed many flight tests..."

But why is then here mentioned that there were indeed issues ... so that:

BEIJING—The Comac C919 will probably make its second test flight in October, five months after it first flew. The program has had many issues since the May 5 first flight, says Comac Chief Designer Wu Guanghui. None of these has been the result of some fault on Comac’s part, Wu says, declining to give details. Meanwhile, ground tests are underway on the second of the six flight-test aircraft, says a spokesperson for the state company. ...

C919 is a major ground breaking project in a very technologically complicated industry. It's natural that COMAC will need to take its time in developing this. No need to race anyone. They need to take their time and develop a successful project. You certainly can't compare comac experience to that of airbus or boeing. Everyone can just relax a little bit.
