Interesting. in comparison to the last image I know (from April I think) they removed all the scaffoldings.

However it does not look as if any sensors are installed ??

IMO the radar arrays does not seem to be installed ?

The undocked the vessel in June 2015, over two years ago, and it will not be ready for its first builders sea trials until December 2018?

Well, I guess for their first indigenous carrier that is not too bad. 3 1/2 years. But it will be nice to see it get to sea.

By comparison, the Chinese started CV-17 building in March 2015 and launched her in April 2017. They expect she will go to sea some time in the Spring of 2018.

Now THAT is moving a carrier build and test right along. They will have built, launched, outfitted and put to sea a larger carrier in a time frame since the Vikrant was launched!

Just the same. I look forward to seeing the Vikrant and the Vikamaditya at sea together when the time comes.

India plans to purchase 108 Sukhoi T-50

New Dehli, India has just taken a step forward in the acquisition of the Sukhoi T-50 (PAK-FA). Indeed, an internal commission of the Ministry of Defense recommended the purchase of the T-50 aircraft via the initial co-production plan with Russia.

The internal committee, headed by the retired Indian Air Force Marshal, Simhakutty Varthaman, after studying the technical parameters, recommended India to acquire the Sukhoi T-50 Indo-Russian, India is planning to commit more than $ 5 billion to the joint development of the PAK-FA.

The preliminary development agreement that was signed in 2010 between the United Aircraft Corporation of Russia and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited of India.

In addition, India is preparing a firm order of 108 Sukhoi T-50 combat aircraft that will be handed over when accepting the final version of the agreement being prepared, "said an Indian Air official Force (IAF).

Latest preparations:
India and Russia have not yet finalized the share of work for the production and transfer of technology. Currently the Indian Ministry of Defense is working with Russia on the sharing of labor and technology transfer, while the IAF is involved in finalizing operational requirements and the number of fighters, said Daljit Singh, a former marshal and defense.

Probably better to go for the Su-35s or Mig-35s.
