Because the russkis/Sukhoi OKB are crazeee! in all seriousness though the reason why the naming convention for the baseline Flanker and the Flanker variants is just how they segregaed sales basased on more factors than yout typical 'western' aircraft which incluses the different roles, countries, maker (KnaaPo and Irkut) etc etc.

A - Algeria
B = Bolshaya/Bombardirovschik - bomber
D = Dozapravka
I = Indiski - India
IB = Istrebitel Bombardirovschik
K = Kommercial/Kommercheskij (Commercial export Vietnam,Indonesia, Ethipia)
K = Korabelnyj
K = Kitei - China
M = Modifkatsi - modified
M = Moderniziroval / Modernizirovannyj - modernized
also M - Malaysia
MF = Mnogofunktsionalniy - multirole all weather attack
R = rekornostsirovka - recon
RV = Russkije Vitjazi (Russian Knights)
S = Serial - production
UB = Uchebno Boevoy - 2 seat trainer

So for ex. SU-27SK means Serial production, commerical export. SU 30MKA is Mk for ALgeria etc
but even that is not standardized because in the case of MK2 ir just means MKK designated for Vietnam, Venezuala, Uganda etc!
Like I said you need a PhD to undeestand the SU27 designations!
It's hard because we don;t understand cyrilic. for example K means 3 things as can be seen above.
  1. K = Kommercial/Kommercheskij (Commercial export Vietnam,Indonesia, Ethipia)
  2. K = Korabelnyj - Carrier
  3. K = Kitei - China
it is not as difficult, you just need to understand the language Su-30MKK it simply means modified Chinese commercial Su-30, Su-30MKI is de same modified comercial India.

The Russians follow also protocols Su-33 and MiG-29K the K is vessel or naval if the K is the first letter, but if it is a second k like in Su-30MK means modified commercial the Su-30MKK is modified commercial Chinese is not that complex; because last k means kitai or China

Perhaps the Su-35 in Chinese service is the Su-35SK or Su-35SKK like in the case of Su-27SK

Impossible to tell from the photos. But it is strange that the aircraft are so close to each other. It is not an air show or parade, but a delivery, no need for so tight and neat formation. Unless this photo was made specifically for a photo pos. during the delivery flight.

Why the AFB came up with the trade-mark? "A Flanker, is a Flanker, is a Flanker!"

Its quite typical of the Russians?? it keeps the fans confused,,,, as evidence by the constant debate here about what is what?? and ties peoples minds up in minutia, which is where folks who like to argue these details live???

anyway, where are the next ten SU-35s??? are they "on their way?"
the american denominations are the same, F-15I, I for Israel, F-15S for Saudi arabia, F-4EJ last J for Japan, the problems comes simply because most people do not know Russian language, but is very likely Su-35s in Chinese service have either Su-27BMK or Su-35SK denominations

take for example F-15SG or F-15K they are given denominations based upon the country users one is for Singapore and the other Korea, but of course you read English and it is easy for you, but for a Russian who does not read it or speak it, well it is quiet difficult, and they will wonder why the F-15 has so many different letters.

You could say well the F-15E is the american version of the F-15I or F-15K for South Korea, and in that way is a bit easier for English speakers but if you read Russian the First M means modified and if it is MF means multi-role they know it because they speak the language

a similar american example is the F-4, the F-4J is a variant used by the US navy while the F-4EJ is the Japanese version of the F-4E, the first J is just a variant while the second J means Japan, that is repeated in the F-104 too.

The F-16 is not easier since they have blocks which basically make more difficult to understand sub variants from Variants

From what I found out via replies at Twitter that Il-76 appears to be the RA-76846. One of six operated by the charter company "Aviacon Air Cargo", which is based at Koltsovo International Airport in Yekaterinburg.
