Not sure if this has been posted before, but it's great nonetheless:

It is a nice video.

Hehehe...but the US NAvy has been putting out those kind of up tempo, really cool videos for a long time.

Here's one from 30 years ago. its 46 minutes long...but a good video:

Again, there is no difference because the J-15 sitting at the waist position does not have to be powered for takeoff (i.e. afterburner) until the port bow J-15 is already gone and the jet blast deflector is lowered.
Report if you have evidence that both port positions are used in normal operation at the same time.

Hollywood needs to make another Top Gun like movie again! It doesn't matter if the primary antagonist is a made up nation or even aliens for that matter as the focus would primarily be the USN.

Aside from the entertainment aspect it's also a good marketing campaign.

Report if you have evidence that both port positions CANNOT be used at the same time, since you were the one to first make this claim. Your reasons of "safety" and "FOD" do not hold any water at all.

CV-16 should embark on a larger air wing in 2017

Let's see them go all out with 24 x J15
They may have already done so.

We know we have seen the deck with what? 13 or 14 aircraft sitting on deck. Who is to say that they did not have 2-3 air borne at that time with another seven or eight in the hangar?

We just do not know. We only know what has been released for photo ops and PR.

My guesss is that they have alreay been out with more than the 13 or 14 we have seen.

Nut they have carefully grown to the sizes we are seeing...and we have watched them slowly and methodically release pictures of more and more aircraft on deck as they have trained and exercised.

I think they are feeding the information out carefully and that this has been their plan in terms of letting others "see" what they are doing.

IMHO, it is likely that they have already exercised the Liaoning with 20 or more aircraft...we just have not seen the pictures of them all on deck at once.

1. It is easy for an observer with a limited view to establish an existence and almost impossibly to prove an absence.

2. It is not a question of whether something can be done, but whether something has an operational advantage.

Should I be correct, we will not experience normal operation with take-offs from two different positions on the same track.

That was my last post on this topic until we have new information.
