The PLAN LCAC Type 726 Yuyi Class

Only 12 726s?

How could this small number be useful for, let's say, a Taiwan invasion? You cant really bring a full battalion ashore with those, even if they were non-mechanized. Sure, they might offer some flexibility, but I think China should rather build more LSTs and Zubr, as well as a lot more transport helicopters.

Interesting

So USN can lift 10 x Humvee In 3/4/3 configurations

I reckon the 726 can lift 10 x Humvee In 2 columns of 5

However if they optimised the design this could be 3 columns of 5 so 15 x Humvee

726 is wider and longer than its American counterpart but the design is not optimised

So that's 40 Humvee per LPD could be 60 with better lift capacity which is space optimised that's a 1/3 more

I wonder if they will work on this in this direction

LCAC can fit a max of 13 humvees.

How does the Type 071 well deck compare to the well deck of the San Antonio? I know the type 071 has 4m less beam than the San Antonio. Does that mean well deck is narrower as well?

China obviously has been doing all that and will continue to do so in future....

It's not like the PLA would only rely on type 726 lcacs for a crossing in a hypothetical taiwan contingency.

The LCAC can carry up to a maximum of 12 HMMWVs in a 4-4-4 (column) configuration:

The 726 could carry no more than 8 HMMWV-sized vehicles in a 1-2-2-2-1 (row) configuration in its current form, and this would be an optimistic estimate. Having a wider front ramp would allow the 726 to carry (possibly) only one more vehicle.

The 071 has a 16m x 120m well deck. The San Antonio has a 15.2m x 51.7m well deck. So actually the San Antonio has a narrower well deck.

First off, that article is pure rag, so anything that's contained in that article is suspect until proven otherwise. Second, even if true 12 is enough for one ARG's worth of 726s. They may want to test the logistics capability of this ACV in action before they truly mass produce it. At least that's what I hope they are doing with the 726.

Type 726 can have 2+2+2+2+2 rows total 10 Humvee

Why you have 1 at either end ? It's not like it's narrower at either end

Each Type 071 can host 4 Type 726 so after with 6 they need idaly 24 but 20 is largely sufficient not all ships are ready, operationals

But i have a doubt the 2 Landing crafts are in addition to 726 in a 071 ?

The 5m is the "parking width" of the 726, so I think the overall usable area of the 726 is going to be something like 5m x 26m or 5m x 27m.

The well deck of the 071 is 16m x 120m.

The 726 is a "clone" of the LCAC? We can only wish the 726 were actually a clone of the LCAC. Clearly a rag article from a rag website. :p
No site, blog is perfect... but i have see very good things there don' t going too in the détails.

The 726 is narrower at both the front and back end because of the ramp winches, or whatever they are called, so the area where they are located can only load a single jeep. Even without the winches the width is just barely enough to support 2 HMMWV-sized vehicles side-by-side. If the jeep in question is actually smaller than a HMMWV at 4.9m x 2.2m, then you may be able to fit them in 2x5 = 10 vehicles. Note also that we don't have accurate information on the exact dimensions of the usable length of the vehicle deck, so five rows of vehicles may or may not actually be possible.
