I havent followed the development of the plane for ~half a year and by now there are 300 new pages.

Could someone be so nice and tell me how many planes there are now and how real their IoC is ?

SAC's original proposal wasn't FC-31?

The competition was for a heavy fighter. The FC-31 was created by SAC after they lost the heavy fighter competition to try to preempt the PLA's requirement for a light/medium fighter. According to insiders, they lost that one too so the only potential for the FC-31's success now is in export.

And even then, if CAC develops their own medium fighter, potential export customers like Pakistan will probably prefer CAC over SAC because CAC has decades of experience exporting and ensuring customer satisfaction whereas "SAC" and "customer satisfaction" are antonyms.

What is the winning light/medium stealth fighter that beat the FC-31?
