Chinese purchase of Su-35

Guys, why are we even entertaining an irrelevant little Japanese toy with 3 pieces of scrap on its tail for "thrust vectoring" attached to trainer level engines? This hey-I'm-still-relevent-and-can-sorta-make-stuff-so-don't-rip-me-off-too-hard-on-F-35 "stealth fighter" doesn't even belong in talks involving serious designs that have a future in production. (Has it even flown twice?) And if you say it IS a serious design, well, then that's the saddest part LOL

"The stealth coating utilized on the F-22 was originally developed in Japan for commercial application in case you didn't know."

@SamuraiBlue I didn't know that and it didn't come up on preliminary google search. Let's see the source.

Flame bait gets flame bait back. I think we all know that anyone here who suggests that China doesn't innovate and doesn't even understand the importance of the basic concepts never came here for intelligent debate, but just wanted to toss a turd and run. So here's that turd back at him, but with a yellow snowball of truth added to it.

covering the F-22 is a register product of Ube Industries.
Zoltek is a subsidiary of Toray as well.
And what is the connection of Tryanno fiber to F-22? Is it the stealth skin itself or is it something that is used as 1 of many components to make the stealth skin? Because if it's the second, then saying F-22's skin was designed in Japan is like crediting the brick makers with the design of the building. Please answer with qualified sources clearly stating the use of Tyranno fiber in F-22 if it is indeed used.

  • In talking about Su-35: Su-35 purchase is to satisfy immediate needs. Tech wise China could mainly learn from its flight control, especially its "low-speed all-situation super maneuverability" which is the only example in the world. It also achieved this maneuverability without canards, something that China is unable to achieve today.
  • The deal on Su-35 depends on the political situation between China/Russia/US. In addition, China is not going to buy a lot but wants to get it in a hurry, so it has very little bargaining power as a buyer. As a result of these complicating factors, whether the deal can go through is highly uncertain, it could happen next month or it could keep dragging on, or it may never go through.

Since we seem to be at loggerheads (once again) at the reasons China may want the Su-35, I'm going to repost something superdog shared some months ago, since it's the only good first person primary source we have on the matter that I can recall (I have spent the last four days digging for it). I hope this will at least give some evidentiary basis to future discussions.

Again back to my number-obsession:

It seems as if this guy noted that the number of the Chinese SU-35SK seems to be 23063 or 23066. And that there are reports that following the military reform, the PLA Air Force again changed their serial-number rules so that it becomes impossible to decipher by the conventional method.

Anyone with some more information ???
