Saw Rogue One this morning. Better than Force Awakens. Better than prequels. I'll have to think about it if and where it ranks within the original trilogy. Unlike Force Awakens, this one had space battles with capitol ships. And unlike the battles that happened in the prequels, this one felt in tune with the vision of the original trilogy. The plot was straightforward but wasn't winging it like Force Awakens felt. I'd say at least 50% of what you saw in the trailers and teasers wasn't in the final cut. It wasn't in the movie at all or they were reshot. It was exciting when Darth Vader shows up. It made me wish that there was a Jedi vs Sith battle.

I just saw "Rouge One". I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.... and I'm no film critic so....I'm out.

I agree. There's a scene where Vader wipes out about 15 rebels in about 30 seconds with his light sabre. Not a Jedi in sight. When we got home I watched the first 40 minutes or so of the original "Star Wars" episode IV titled "A New Hope".....you'll know why when you see the film.

...that's enough... I won't spoil the film for anyone.

and....I still like "The Force Awakens"...a lot!

Yes like many have said Rogue One makes you appreciate A New Hope better. And I also heard it said people should read the Star Wars Catalyst book to appreciate Rogue One even more.
