according to NavalToday (dated October 26, 2016) Ukraine agrees to provide engines for Indian frigates built in Russia
Ukraine has agreed to provide gas turbine engines for improved Krivak-class (Project 11356) frigates that India will acquire from Russia, India’s Defense Minister told reporters on Tuesday.

Based on Krivak-class, or Talwar-class as the ships that were built for India are called, the improved version was supposed to be a class of six new frigates that the Russian Navy would operate.

Three ships from the first batch – Admiral Grigorovich, Admiral Essen and

– were successfully completed by Yantar Shipyard with gas turbine engines delivered by the Ukrainian Zorya-Mashproyekt.

However, following the 2014 Crimea conflict, Ukraine refused to deliver the remaining three engines forcing Russia to consider transferring the remaining three frigates to India. Construction on two second-batch ships was already underway at the time.

After a meeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin in October this year, it was announced that India would acquire a total of four improved Krivak-class frigates. There was also a proposal to build two frigates in India and two in Russia.

On October 25, India’s Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters at the Naval Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi that Ukraine has agreed to provide the gas turbines for the ships.

Project 11356 frigates are designed for anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare in the high seas, and anti-aircraft actions both independently and as an escort ship. Measuring 124,8 meters in length, the frigates displace 3620 tonnes.

The frigates will possibly be equipped with BrahMos missiles developed jointly by India and Russia.

Sukhoi’ T-50 (PAK FA)

The ninth prototype of the fifth-generation T-50 PAK FA (Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation) fighter jet will start undergoing trials in the imminent future, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov said.

Borisov made this statement during a working trip to the Saturn Scientific and Production Association in Rybinsk in central Russia.

“The ninth prototype will start undergoing trials today. We have switched to its comprehensive trials. We are testing its weapons and the entire avionics suite,” Borisov said in reply to the relevant question.

According to the deputy defense minister, the trials are on schedule and “serious imperfections have not been registered.”

“The plane has already confirmed its performance characteristics. Today we will switch to its comprehensive trials, including tests of its weapons suite,” he added.

As Borisov said, the T-50 fighter jet “has stepped over all the requirements set to planes of this type.”

I agree Jeff. I see only six aircraft on deck. Maybe there's another six to 10(?) in the hangar. The Russian logistic ablity to re-arm and resupply ADM"K" at sea is very, very limited. The Russian cannot UNREP side to side. They do it stern to bow.... and I've never seen any photos of a Russian VERTREP. We shall see how they handle this deployment.

Very good Master Popeye but also they don't have and yet before helos for VETREP only Ka-27/31 on ships for ASW, Mi-14 only used from land bases.

They do it stern to bow....
Only for liquid no solid normaly ?

But again I would like to refer to this post:

Concerning this aleged T50 no. 9 I did some research behind .... and it seems as if indeed some sort of typical Russian-media hype is involved:

Following the original Zvezda statement, "Девятый самолет ПАК ФА выходит из опытной партии" = "Ninth aircraft PAK-FA exits/leaves from the experimental batch" he actually said nothing that it flew, maybe not even that it is finished: More likely it seems as if he is saying that ninth T-50 will be more serial-like, which is in line with what the infamous Azohen Vey said that T-50-9 should be complete in terms of electronics. Borisov didnt say directly a new prototype has joined the ranks.

So this is not ninth T-50 prototype in total, and even less 10'th flying (like some fan-boys already assume) T-50 because in reality there were two different T-50-5's, but it is simply easier to refer to T-50-8 as ninth.

1. T50-0
2. T50-1 (051)
3. T50-2 (052)
4. T50-3 (053)
5. T50-4 (054)
6. T50-5 no longer but now T50-6-1 = T50-5R (055)
7. T50-6-2 (056)
8. T50-7 = static test specimen (??)
9. T50-8 unconfirmed (??)

As such he is even most likely counting these 9 aircraft not as flying prototypes but simply the 6 flying as of now (T50-1, 2, 3, 4, 5R, 6-2) and the two static frames -0 and -7 and now T50-8.

But as usual ... all what sounds good is fine even if the truth is a bit different.
