Yeah, what is with the exhaust from the Kuznetsov?
She has quite unique type of steam powerplant(specifically -boilers) by modern standarts.
And she never had chance to properly adjust it back in Soviet Union, much less modern Russia.
It's quite likely they are going to be replaced if she finally will be upgraded after this deployment - even if it's extremely expensive.

They might go the the makers of Liaoning's steam plant.

afaic:
Kuznetsov has russian steam boilers kvg-3 with hydraulic control.
Liaoning has russian steam boilers(her native ones), but outfitted with Chinese control, probably - electic.
Vikramaditya has newer Russian boilers with electric control, kvg-3d.
Second and third variants work fine.

Logically, last option sounds the most realistic.

Logically, last option sounds system without change boilers ?.

Possible modernized propulsion without change boilers ?
In a ship for price propulsion is an expensive thing with sensors ( radars, sonars especialy ) the float itself is not the more expensive
