wonder how Deino's taking this all in...
D-Deino sir??

How did you know? yes he is looking exactly like this, trying to process all the information he gleans from each individual pixel on each photo-graph, and video's kick that massive brain of his into "overdrive" creating very high heat, just like a big honking video graphics card inside his head, in fact he has a ceiling fan venting through each ear??????

I was skeptical at first as well, but this looked pretty convincing.

Yep, a little convincing, but I'm not completely sold, have a look at the very outstanding top side pix of the "primer birds", there is no apparent access panels behind the door for servicing??? in fact the panels on both sides are identical aft of the small door???

Not being a naysayer, I just don't see it, but that may well be the gun???

and I, being the skeptic, don't think it is, the gun port should be at least a meter, maybe two in length to give the barrel room to clear the airframe, and longitudinally oriented. I just do NOT see anything that approximates a gun door?

?
If the issue is clearance, the size of the gun port doesn't matter, it depends on what the area of the fuselage forward to the gun door is like...

And on the J-20 the fuselage cants on a slight downwards angle forward to the suspected gun door, so I think there is quite sufficient forward clearance. Also, check photos of F-22s gun door; it is in a similar position on the F-22 only on the right side

Might be that the gun isn't a priority right now. They've saved the space for it in the location marked by Blitzo, but they didn't install the gun yet.

Very doubtful, the gunport is not something you just add on after a plane has left the factory, especially in a stealth fighter.

I'm also a little bit confused, are you suggesting that we should expect to be able to see the gun port in an obvious way?
Because don't get me wrong, maybe J-20 doesn't have a gun, but everyone seems to be thinking that if a gunport was present then it would be super obvious and easy to see, and using that as the main argument for suggesting J-20 may not have a gun.

Remember, this is a stealth fighter, and a quite voluminous one at that -- so if anything, we can reasonably estimate that if J-20 does have a gun, then the gunport will probably not be obvious to see at all (like on the F-35A), and will likely be more like the F-22's gunport, which is almost impossible to locate unless one already knows where it is.

So saying "we can't see the gunport" right now is probably the worst way of arguing the position that J-20 does not have a gun, because considering the type of aircraft J-20 is, and considering the gunport on a similar aircraft (F-22), then we should expect the gunport to be virtually impossible to find on J-20.
