the bulge (shown in red in the map above EDIT and below :) ; in blue: approximate positions before the game began) looks something like this:
  1. widens to the north-west from "Al-Hamami" (top-left corner, see?); from there
  2. follows the road to "Muhradah" (it's

  3. gets around Muhradah, down to the vicinity of "Al Majdal" (

  4. the bottom is north to "Khattab" (it's Khitab from https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/is...o-oped-no-politics.t6913/page-421#post-412920 and Government is there)

EDIT
just checking my map against
n-ham.jpg

interestingly, "Kokab" here = "Kawkab" above;
according to that map:
#2 line should go more to the west
#7: "Qubaybat" not Government-held

Foolishness to try and plan and execute such an operation around some politically motivated date. They risk as much or more than they hope to gain.
"British ... are pounding Islamic State targets ahead of a major offensive by Iraqi security forces next month to recapture the key northern city of Mosul from IS ..." inside MilitaryTimes article
UK: British warplanes bomb ISIS to support Iraqi push on Mosul

seems to support somebody's conjecture I posted in https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/is...o-oped-no-politics.t6913/page-425#post-414069
(and you commented upon)

sounds like gloves off time: "The pumping station supplying rebel-held parts of Aleppo was damaged on Thursday and subsequent strikes had made repairs impossible, Mr Dwyer told the BBC.

"That pumping station pumps water to the entire population of the eastern part of city - that's at least 200,000 people and then in retaliation for that attack a nearby pumping station that pumps water to the entire western part of the city - upwards to 1.5 million people - was deliberately switched off," he told the BBC."

today there was an anti-Government attack in the area #7 above (pro-Government sources don't say much about it; I saw vids purporting to show lost Government armor), up to somewhere where this map ends ... I'll wait, just wonder: will the Government lines crumble?

ISIL was able to counter-attack against Turkey/Rebels to the point of getting some ground back (the top-right corner):

I saw this and thought it was a spoof - apparently not!

Do members resident in the US actually know of the Senator asking the question?
I think US better to have this General the national leader than the elected politician. Democrazy beyond belief.
