Aircraft carrier is a hull large enough to make hiding it impossible once putting it together. Given international shipbuilding industry is witnessing a slump, a massive hull that has not the cross-section characteristics of feighter or supertanker being put together in those shipyard, would be quite a giveaway sign.

And then before you know it, commercial satellite images pops up...

Still, first gimme some image evidence that the land catapult training facility has been put to work, only then we got something close to solid to guess over 002.

one thing I know is he's more relevant than you regarding to speaking about taiwan. He's from taiwan and you are not. . At least he's speaking majority about taipei.

You saying he's irrelvant. How about you? which part of taiwan you represent.
If you say you are from tainan, then you most likely a farmer. r,

Hightech >> Farmer. Taipei >> Tainan.
anyday.

I don't even know how to respond to your logic, never mind, I'm not going to bother continuing with this discussion.

Come on guys. I thought we are clear that there should not have any politics involved in this forum (unless specifically allowed thread?)

Whats with all these bullshit green camp, blue camp, red camp and whatever camps got to do with Chinese carriers?

Cut the Cross Strait Political Rhetoric. It leads to bad places.

That purple model is kind of funny/wrong -- the flight deck's horizontal orientation seems to have been flipped, so that the runway is angled to starboard rather than port (when looking at the flight deck angle), but the island still remains on the starboard side as well...
You are right. But I don't think if that error is big enough to affect his research that is "large ship deck airflow field". Also my point was about the possible shape of the deck house, not about his research either. Due to the author's background, I think there is a very good chance that the deck house in this model is close to reality.

The author (deceased on Jan 11 2016 at age of 48:(): 董文才Dong Wencai, 海军工程大学舰船工程系舰船性能教研室原教授. Professor of Naval Engineering University, same as 马伟明 Ma Weiming.

The deckhouse is not the same as that purple model.
Look at the pictures. It is the liaoning deckhouse but with an added deck extention below the bridge.
However it is more inward and not aligned with the original.
Also the attached outside bridge deck is gone.

They won't release a final design for us to see anyway, so even if it's official and genuine, it has to be a iteration along the design phase.

From reading the vietnamese articles and forum, (with google translator of course), what prompted vietnam putting the rockets on the island is their feeling antsy and anxious about China recent muscular military drills and China Carrier Program. With Number 2 almost done and ready to roll, Vietnam feels like it has do something.
Even thought Chinese Carrier isn't state of the art but they are the "kings in Asia" . As more and more Chinese Carriers online down the pipe, their anxiety will become more stronger , stronger until it exploded or paralyzed. That's a sign of self-destruct.

It will be in my opinion at least two years before #2 is ready for any sort of flight operations. CV-16 is not fully mission capable yet and she's been in commission since Sept 2012.

Now #2 will be on a faster track than CV-16. Much faster. Still...#2 ship shall not be in service anytime soon.

It's pieline approach rather than serial approach. While working on number 2, number 3 already started.
The lag time between number 2 and number 3 service time is going to shortened. I heard in the program that PLAN uses a number of 2 approach; meaning number 1 & 2 are same model and number 3 & 4 are the same model. Number 3 uses conventional power and catapult. They won't build only 1 for this model. Prediction; 4 carriers by 2020. And nuclear powered model later on.
