The logistics center finished a depot-level modification to the F-35A’s fuel system, alleviating an overpressure condition during elevated G-maneuvers

After waiting an answer dudes :)

Heh! HEH! HEH! Nitrogen Inerting system displaces the O2 in the fuel system with gaseous Nitrogen which suppresses spark ignition, in other words with the nitrogen filling the void between fuel and tank, there is no way you can come up with an "explosive mixture". In addition the pressure relief valve, bleeds off excessive fuel system pressure from high Gs, so as the pressure builds to a certain point the valve releases that inert gas overboard.

My brother had his C-150 fueled to the top Tuesday, before heading home, as the airplane sat on the ramp, the fuel heated up and began to drip out of the overflow. Avgas is a very light fuel, and the vapors are "highly combustible".

JP-4 or whatever they burn these days is much less so, but the vapors will definitely ignite. If you watched the movie "always", when John Goodmans PBY has an engine fire, Richard Dreyfus saves his butt by "bombing" him with slurry, when in the ensuing pull out, Richard Dreyfus sucks a few burning embers into his left engine, the A-26 very shortly thereafter explodes. B-29s were pretty famous for engine fires, but those hot gases are very combustible.

I believe if I recall the F-35 had an engine fire because a compressor blade problem and chafing, anyway, the F-35 uses fuel to cool the avionics or something, a little weird, but much simpler than carrying some type of coolant. KOOOL HUH?

By the end of 2016, the US willl have more delivered, flying F-35 5th generation aircraft in service (though not fully operational) than F-22 aircraft.

Marine Corps F-35B Stealth Fighter Is Ready for War, General Says

As USAF F-35A soon after USMC F-35B block 2 get Block 3i ofc in first front line units.

I think moved from 2B to 3i is only a matter of softwares eventually connection to stations points for new weapons no " physical changes, necessary for block 4 minor ofc especialy for host 8 SDB and after 6 AAM in the weapons bays, size, space matter but US have very compact weapons in genral more small as others countries and help much for fit in a fighter with many things inside, especialy much fuel, anyway the A get a little more as F-22.

But i am not sure right now exept for tests fighters yet modified ofc, Block 3i again more Block 2B can be armed with external weapons and use it.

Sure Block 3F in fact the first true Block able for combat missions, for next year seems thinking US Air services move very fast for this Block, the 4 ideal but more complicated for reasons i have mentionned.

The programm seems on the good way now, initialy laborious ! but finaly good :)

F 35B 25mm GAU 22 Gun Pod Test
On July 6 2016, at the Naval Air base at Patuxent River, Maryland, US Marines carried out the first successful test of the F-35B's GAU-22 gun pod.

Yep, I second Equations enthusiasm and thank you Master Forbin, and Equation, notice those hydraulic jacks under the wings, normally used for gear maintenance and Retract testing, they are used here to aim the gun and stabilize the aircraft during weapons release. I realize it is a 25MM cannon, but that puppy would bounce that bird around if it were just setting on the landing gear, those jacks take the weight off the gear and allow the rounds to be aimed into the "bullet trap", and prevent the aircraft from "bouncing around", no doubt there is significant recoil when you light that baby up!??

as an aside, that 105MM howitzer in the AC-130 "punts" the aircraft to the side for every round fired, on my flight sim, with the view from "in trail" you can see the rudder deflect to the side every time the 105 is fired!

220 rounds for the gun in pod, 180 for internal, also i have take a look for weapons loads :)accordings differents Block, sub Blocks wow what panoply for punish the bad guys ! but with many blocks difficult !

And planned CFT of 426 gallons/1612 l for Block 4 or 5 with two 30 % of fuel in more for A/C, 40 % for the B but the range is not increased in the same proportion with the extra weight, drag thinking about 20 % yet interesting, Israel want it fast.

Also again to Red Flag 16-3 F-35B have do very good job vs ground targets in the range to Nelis which is the best site for this matter of training.
