N3uBkY4.jpg

Pictures of a scale model and computer renderings of a new guided-missile destroyer project for the Republic of China (Taiwan) Navy (ROC Navy) emerged last week in the 中国军事中國軍事武器 (China Military Chinese Weapon) magazine. This new destroyer project is in line with Taiwan's new naval acquisition plan which was unveiled late last year. The new plan called for four new destroyers (among other vessels).

so, 12B Baht or US$340M each ... not bad, assuming it is AIP and include training and maintenance facilities and parts ... very cheap indeed.

Honestly, I wouldn't think Thailand need Yuan ... perhaps modernised Song would be good enough for Thailand ... perhaps half the cost .. or second hand ex PLAN .. would save a lot of $$$

Deal not signed... but with 3 for 1 billion Thai do very good money, capable SSK quiet as a Kilo 636 and more in AIP mode, i don' t know if Yuan want last Western SSK, Soryu for this matter.

A 636M want this price.
IIRC Vietnamese have buy 6 for 2 billions with in more support, a floating dock also.

Right now they have a Submarine Sqn with submariners but not SSK :) have envisaged before buy formers Germans Type 206, Colombia have buy 2.

I think Thailand need Yuan because Vietnam got Kilo, and Myanmar is looking for two submarines by 2019 (in the league of Kilo). We know from the history of mainland Southeast Asia that the relationship among the three are not easy.
