Your best bet would be to turn off automatic updates so that they can't shove windows 10 on your machine!

Thankfully, my Windows 7 machine (which I am using now) isn't trying to force-upgrade to windows 10. The windows 10 icon (in the taskbar) doesn't appear for me. And windows 10 doesn't appear in Windows Update. All is good.

My dual boot machine, which is DB 7/10, has the Windows 10 flag in the Windows 7 taskbar, telling me that I should upgrade to windows 10. However, Windows 10 is not appearing under automatic update... which is good, because I don't want windows 10 on that partition. I already have a partition that has windows 10 preinstalled on to it! Windows 7 is to keep program compatibility. Having a dual boot of Windows 10 Home against Windows 10 Pro is not helpful at all and defeats the object of setting up dual booting!

Well I've been avoiding the Windows 10 upgrade on my desktop but it just downloaded and installed itself without even me knowing until it was too late. I wanted to download it on my Surface Pro first but it seems to fail every time. I bought Call of Duty Black Ops 3 back in Nov when it came out. Was never able to play it until now. So I don't know if it was Windows 10 or the major update to the game recently.

I use a 4K TV as monitor now so I had to upgrade to Windows 10 for proper scaling. So far so good, I've used it for about 4 months now, and it's been pretty stable. I restart once every couple of weeks, and I can't really think of many crashes. Windows has really come a long way since it's 95 days lol.

Well, my dual boot system that I am using is now giving me the flag for downloading Windows 10 onto my Windows 7 partition!

Why oh why oh why would I want to do that - dual boot windows 10 Home with Windows 10 Pro? That won't fix the issues with regards to my programs not working in windows 10, and the increased graphics requirement in windows 10!

Anyone know a way of stopping the Windows 10 from actually installing, other than completely shutting off Windows Update?

I post here for a Browser problem :

Yet sadly ! impossible to move from W 8 to 10 after many try ! and now Int Explorer 11 don't worck for videos...

So i use Chrome but here often edit, like, etc... don't worck in more no good for videos, low.

My PC is a little low in RAM and i search a "light" browser and seems Chrome " heavy "

Know you one ? seems Firefox is the best.

Upgraded from win 7 to window 10 last week (basically on the second to last day until free update ends). So far haven't had any problems and all my previous programs seems to work ok. Took a whole afternoon, night, and only finished the next morning though.

Apparently you can roll back from win 10 to 8 and 7 if you don't like it, and it will keep your original apps and data. If you have already installed win 10 then rolled back, you can still install win 10 again on the same machine (same motherboard) in the future without additional cost.

But if you want to roll back you'll only have 31 days from when you upgraded to win 10 to do so, so decide quickly.

Thank you and seems possible move directly from W 8 to 10 but sadly i have one error at the beginning of the installation after the download and 4 try 4 times same !!!

But can be interesting :

I have see seems posible have again for free, have you a link please ?

For the rest Explorer 11 still works especialy with You Tube which have say before it would not be possible, only with new Browser Edge/W 10, good news presumably they changes or not changes :) something not initialy planned.

I have the lot installed, Chrome, Firefox, IE etc... Firefox is much lighter on the RAM compared to Chrome/Chromium. Though I prefer chromium.

Don't use Int Explorer, it's very slow. On W10, Edge is a better alternative, though Chromium will work better. Likewise, Firefox will also work better than Edge or IE
