Meanwhile the corrupt government officials outside of China are still in office.o_O:rolleyes: Nope, voting for either criminal A or criminal B won't change the current corruption going on in Washington D.C.
What does DC have to do with current discussion on corrupt governance in China? Oh! You think A cancels B...?

One could ask why you were interested in bringing up corruption in the first place -- it's not like anyone here or anyone in China or the Communist Party denies it exists and is an issue which needs to be tackled.

I've noticed over the years that you are able to quite consistently take a sentence from someone's post and managing to reinterpret in a way to start a tangential talk about corruption in China or something about supreme overlord Xi or something driven by yourself that usually lasts maybe a page or so before fizzling out.

There's nothing wrong with trying to segue into a different discussion as such, but you're not exactly doing it subtly, and more importantly the subject you're trying to segue into is one which is discouraged if not outright prohibited by the forum, so I'm not sure why you bother.

No Blackstone, Xi is saying that because he thinks there are still Communist officials out there breaking the rules.
So, if I said there are still Communist officials out there breaking the rules to enrich themselves, instead of saying they make self-serving rules to enrich themselves, you would agree?

But of course only CCP overlords may impose self-serving rules on China's citizens, and they do a great job on that.

So, if I said there are still Communist officials out there breaking the rules to enrich themselves, instead of saying they make self-serving rules to enrich themselves, you would agree?

So pretty much, you agree that your previous claim was pulled out of your nether regions?

"Funding the Homeland"? What exactly is that supposed to mean?

Basically what you're thinking. Ie: doing what the US has done with their own (still currently global reserve) currency and financial markets and absorb wealth from other countries. Covering any excessive expenditures by doing so. Simplistic view but even so. It's very tempting to do such a thing given the opportunity.

Not at all, we both agree you were wrong on Chinese Communists continuing to enriching themselves at the expense of the people, since you admitted Xi will not stop cracking down on officials for corruption.

I call them as I see them, good and bad. On the other hand, I like inputs from posters like you and plawolf, because, agree or disagree, your reasoning are generally sound and well crafted. Keep up the constructive feedback Blitzo.

Like Asian democracies don't have corruption? There was a study I read years ago that looked at how long it took for Western countries to get from point A to point B during a critical time of an industrial economy. For them it was in the forty year range. China... around a dozen years, faster than anyone else. If that's corruption, it's the best kind. Just because no one was convicted let alone indicted for the 2008 financial crisis, that doesn't mean there wasn't any corruption involved.

Typical. You claimed that the CPC was making self-serving rules, and when called out on it, you changed it to "enriching themselves at the expense of the people".

Considering your track record, I wasn't really expecting anything else.

Yeah but at what cost?
The air, water pollution is completely without any working regulations that is killing thousands if not millions. Heavy metal tainted rice, the collapsing fishing resources forcing fishermen to poach fishing water on the other side of the planet.
Don't think it's anything to praise openhanded.
