F-22 Raptor Thread

Plasma stealth is still down the road best case. A few years back the Russians were making all kinds of claims about it then they went quite. Personally I think its vaporware.
Now both the Russians and Chinese have been advertising anti-stealth capabilities for their new air defense systems. Part of this is in my opinion the result of these nations developing their own Stealth platforms. I mean if you have a stealthy test article of your own, its easier to test detection against in the practical reality and beyond the pen and paper of theory. Yet even with that detection and tracking of a Low observable craft is not a guaranteed or easy task. They were designed to be hard to find and even if you have the equipment, it only increases. The probably of detection. The snippet of a article I think has enough wiggle room to prove that they feel they would need more then one detection system of surface, and air platforms to confirm a bandit.

As I've said here for years to those who still believe in the myths of F22, F22 have been based in Okinawa for years. In the same time, China started routine patrols in Diaoyu, setup ADIZ in the East China Sea.
Do you believe PLA can do that without gaining at least parity in the skies ? Same with SCS.

You don't need to hack into Pentagon or a real war to start to have a good gauge of many things unless you choose to be blinded by propaganda/myths.

The F-22s have previously deployed to both the Pacific and Southwest Asia for Airmen to train in a realistic environment while testing partner nations' ability to host advanced aircraft like the F-22. I'd personally take the news with a tablespoon of salt until further confirmation from PLAAF (highly dubious) or USAF (even more so).

Why is that ? Because it goes against what Hollywood & LM brochures say about F22 ?
Who knows ? Maybe the stealthy F22 from Okinawa is so invisible to PLA that they think USAF has gone home, giving them the confidence to start routine patrols in Diaoyu, declare ADIZ & other advances in East China Sea in recent years. :)

Well Bub, since you have NO data to back up your assertion, I'd say you're the propaganda/mythological dude on this issue? Your reasoning that China must have "exposed" the F-22, because they are operating in the East China sea is fatally flawed. US is NOT at war with China, and is busy trying to keep the peace, we have never harassed anyone else's Air Force unless they were up to no good and an imminent threat?

To start with, if the F-22 was proven easily visible and its "cover" were blown as u insist? China would have ash-canned the J-20 long ago??? that is most definitely not the case, instead they are trying to replicate the the Raptor/ThunderHogge II, that most assuredly affirms that the F-22 is still on the to beat? LOL

I suggest you offer facts on the F-22 if you have a case to make of it. If you wish to troll on the ECS, there is another thread for it.

I don't think Hollywood gets any of the credit for the F-22?? but LochMart certainly deserves to be lauded for bringing us this very fine aircraft that continues to exceed expectations. If you are an L/O skeptic, you are entitled to your own views, but China and Russia are scrambling to match the F-22/F-35. I am happy to see the F-22s deployed to Kadena, one of my favorite places, it was fun to watch aircraft coming in to land from across the bay.

No doubt the F-22 is invisible to the PLAAF and PLANAF? so no doubt they aren't to worried about something they can't see, flown by an Air Force that is just out to "keep the peace". Sam Colt's hogleg came to be known as the Peacemaker, still the top gun of cowboys, unless your a Smith and Wesson man?? LOL

what does dirty Harry say??? "go ahead, make my day!"

To what I hear it's going to be tested on the ATD-X/X-2 that is going to make it's maiden flight next month.
The mechanism is similar to noise cancellation where they hit the radar with an phased out plasma wave of the same frequency to cancel each other out.
