ACP 100 event was on June 2010 or 66 months ago.
Just think --- what kind Technological breakthroughs, Noise reductions, Weight reductions, Vibration reductions, and miniaturization developments have occurred since 5.5 years ago ??

Will these Nuclear Propulsion manufacturing tech knowledge be applicable to 093xx sub, 095xx sub, and 096xx sub ??

Who did really track the Ronald Reagan carrier + the USN escort GROUP for at least 12 hours in the Sea of Japan ??
The issue you are referring to has been discussed by very knowledgeable people here on SD, who had contact with sources within the ASW community of the US Navy at great length.

All joking aside...it was not at all what many in the press and elsewhere have tried to make of it.

Here's a hint however...no sub surfaces unannounced near an OPFOR to show off. They let later revelations/announcements (usually with some kind of proof) show what they did. The most important quality for any sub is its stealth and cloak of invisibility.

Surfacing usually occurs for only two reasons...one if related to the sub itself, the other is related to its opposition.

But that incident with the Reagan is now old history and people are going to just have to believe whatever they will of it. Best to let it drop.

--------------------
To be sure, let's not go into that incident any further. No more posts regarding it because it will only lead to dissention.
--------------------

As it is, the Type 093 is a fairly well known quantity which we have also discussed.

The Type 095 is not so. There are rumors that at least one has been launched, but no verified pictures of it, or true sense of its capabilities exist.

Given where the Chinese were able to get with on the Type 093, I would expect that the PLAN may be approaching the quieting capabilities of the LA Class, perhaps even the ADCAP LA Class.

That would be fairly extroridnary given their development cycle to date...but I would not doubt it.

We will have to wait however to really know for sure.

Noisy and dangerous... ! as several Soviet classes.

The Han-Class is well known for having a noisy reactor and poor radiation shielding, which causes health hazards for her crew as

levels are higher than they should be aboard the submarine

And
The submarine is also inhibited by an inability to launch missiles while submerged.
This creates a tactical disadvantage against opponents that have well-developed anti-submarine warfare systems

Considering the state of the nation at the time and the industry and tech they had to work with, I think it's still very impressive they got it to work as it did.

Much of the information on the wikipedia page are a little obsolete as well, better suited for the state of the submarines in the early to mid 2000s.

Not only that anyway USSR/Russia have always been less concerned about their personnal, by ex for security reason an aircraft in Western don' t flight and in Russia can, it would not be surprising that it is the same for China.

Sorry but i don' t agree for Wikipedia which provide easily and in general good infos, more accurate in the language from the country and i am difficult...
